2015–16 Eredivisie (women)
The 2015–16 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the sixth season of the Netherlands women's professional football league, and the first season since 2011–12. The Eredivisie returned after a three-season period, when it was replaced by the BeNe League, which involved teams from the Netherlands and Belgium. The season took place from 21 August 2015 to 20 May 2016 with seven teams. FC Twente won its second Eredivisie title and became Dutch champions for a fourth consecutive year (including the BeNe League period). Teams Since the Eredivisie last edition (in 2011–12), VVV-Venlo and FC Utrecht no longer had women's teams, while Ajax and PSV, both established women's teams in 2012, made their debut in the league alongside ADO Den Haag, SC Heerenveen, Telstar, FC Twente and PEC Zwolle which all returned to the Eredivisie. The Vrouwen Eredivisie () (Dutch for ''Honor Division'', ''Eredivisie Vrouwen'' before 2020), also known as the Azerion Eredivisie Vrouwen due to a 3 year sponsor contract starting from the 2022–2023 season, is the highest women's football league in the Netherlands. Organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) it was established in 2007 as a professional league and played for five seasons until 2012 when the leagues of the Netherlands and Belgium merged forming a single combined league (BeNe League). After three seasons the BeNe League folded and the Eredivisie was restarted in the 2015–16 season. The league winner receives a spot in the UEFA Women's Champions League. PSV Vrouwen (or PSV Women) is a Dutch women's football team representing PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie Vrouwen, the top women's league in the Netherlands. A founding member of the BeNe League in 2012, the team was known as PSV/FC Eindhoven and supported jointly by FC Eindhoven and PSV. De Herdgang
De Herdgang is a football training facility in Eindhoven, Netherlands. It serves as the training ground and youth academy of PSV Eindhoven and also accommodates its amateur teams. As of the 2014/2015 season Jong PSV play their home games at this facility. History De Herdgang was built in 1952. The word ‘herdgang’ originates from triangular squares that marked the end of dirt roads. These spots were used as locations where herds of sheep could graze, with ‘herd’ referring to a herd of animals and ‘gang’ being Dutch for ‘way’ or ‘process’. In April 2002, PSV started work on a renovation of the training facilities: a new indoor training hall, a fitness centre, offices and a canteen were added. Jan Louwers Stadion () is a multi-use stadium in the Eindhoven borough of Stratum, Netherlands. Previously the stadium had a cinder track, with curved, earthen and walled standing grandstands on the north and south sides, so that attendances could still reach up to 18,000 visitors in the 1970s. Heerenveen (, fry, It Hearrenfean ) is a town and municipality in the province of Friesland (Fryslân), in the Northern Netherlands. Sportcomplex De Toekomst (Dutch for ''Sporting complex The Future'') is a sporting complex in Ouder-Amstel, Netherlands, owned by AFC Ajax N.V. The complex comprises nine football fields and is located close to the Johan Cruyff Arena. Its main field has seating capacity for 2,000 people. Sportpark Nieuw Hanenburg is a cricket ground in The Hague, the Netherlands. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1966 when the Netherlands played Oxford University. Over the next three decades it hosted a number of touring teams, as well as the 1998 European Cricket Championships.
