2014–15 BeNe League
The 2014–15 BeNe League was the third and last season of the Belgium and Netherlands' women's football top level league. The defending champion was FC Twente. The season started on 29 August 2014 and was played in a single division. The season finished on 8 May 2015. Following this season, Belgium and the Netherlands will have their own top level league again. The BeNe League initiative was ended because Dutch clubs and the Dutch FA failed to come to an agreement regarding the clubs' financial participation for the following seasons. The Dutch FA also questioned the lack of competitiveness. BeNe League
The BeNe League was the highest women's football league in Belgium and the Netherlands. To increase competitiveness in their national leagues, the BeNe League was a joint cooperation between the Royal Belgian Football Association and the Royal Dutch Football Association. Its first season was played in 2012–13 following the successful cooperation with the one match BeNe Super Cup, that paired both countries' national champions. The competition qualified the highest-placed Belgian and Dutch teams to the UEFA Women's Champions League. After three seasons the league was discontinued and both nations returned to their own top-level leagues. History First talks of the league began in 2011. Velsen () is a municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. It is located on both sides of the North Sea Canal. Sportclub Telstar Vrouwenvoetbal Noord-Holland is a Dutch women's football club based in Velsen. It is connected to SC Telstar. Its home stadium was the 3,625 seater BUKO Stadion and its home colours were white. The women's team was established in 2011 and played in the top level Eredivisie and BeNe League. After the 2016–17 season the team relocated to Alkmaar and formed VV Alkmaar. In February 2022 media reported Telstar would restart in the Eredivisie the following season. De Grolsch Veste (, en, The Grolsch Fortress, previously known as ''Arke Stadion'' ) is the stadium of football club FC Twente. It is located in Enschede, Netherlands, at the Business & Science Park, near the University of Twente. Enschede
Enschede (; known as in the local Twents dialect) is a municipality and city in the eastern Netherlands in the province of Overijssel and in the Twente region.
