SAFM (official callsign: 5SSA) is a commercial FM radio station owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo as part of the Hit Network. The station is broadcast to Adelaide, South Australia from studios in Franklin Street. History The station began broadcasting on 12 September 1980, on the frequency of 107.5 MHz, with a call sign of 5SSA and an original on-air branding of "Double SA-FM" which was very short-lived and soon replaced by "SA-FM". It was the first commercial radio station to broadcast on the FM band in Adelaide started by Paul Thompson of the Austereo Network. The first song played on air was "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits. Anthony Lehmann (born 20 August 1969) is an Australian comedian, actor, television and radio presenter. Career Born in Peebinga, South Australia, Lehmo started out working as a chartered accountant before realising he did not actually like accounting and decided to give comedy a try. Rebecca Jane Morse (born 26 August 1977, in South Australia) is an Australian journalist, news and radio presenter. Morse was a presenter of Adelaide's '' 10 News First.'' She is also a co-host on SAFM's breakfast radio show ''Bec, Cosi & Lehmo'' in Adelaide with Andrew "Cosi" Costello and Anthony Lehmann. Career Morse attended Blackwood High School and the University of South Australia at Magill. Prior to joining Ten she worked for the ABC in Adelaide as a reporter and presenter. She was a finalist in the Walkley Awards in 2004 in the category of Television News Reporting and in 2005 won the gold award for Journalist of the Year at the South Australian Media Awards.
