Ruds Vedby, in Sorø Municipality, is a small town located on the railway between Tølløse and Høng in West Zealand, eastern Denmark. Ruds Vedby is located 18 km north of Slagelse, 8 km west of Dianalund and 20 km north-west of Sorø. As of 1 January 2022, the population was 1,696. Lokaltog A/S ( en, Local Trains Ltd) is a Danish railway company responsible for train operation and related passenger services on nine local railways on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster in Denmark. The company was formed on 1 July 2015 as a merger of Lokalbanen A/S and Regionstog A/S. Movia owns a part of Lokaltog, whereas buses are owned by companies, subcontractors, that are paid by this transit agency to drive according to contract. Tølløse Line
The Tølløse Line ( da, Tølløsebanen) (previously Høng-Tølløse Jernbane (HTJ) is a long standard gauge single track local passenger railway line between Tølløse and Slagelse in the western part of the island of Zealand, Denmark. It runs from Tølløse station on the Northwest Line to Slagelse station on the Copenhagen–Fredericia/Taulov Line, through a mainly rural area. The section from Tølløse to Høng opened in 1901, whereas the section from Høng to Slagelse opened in 1898 as part of the now closed Slagelse-Værslev Line. The railway is currently operated by the railway company Lokaltog. Lokaltog runs frequent local train services from Tølløse station to Slagelse station. Vedbygård
Vedbygård is a former manor house located within the village of Ruds Vedby, north-east of Høng, Sorø Municipality, Denmark. The oldest parts of the house date from the 15th century and are in the Late Gothic style. History Early history The first known reference to Vedbygård is from the early 14th century. Early owners include Queen Margaret I of Denmark, and after a period of private ownership it once again came under the Crown in 1369. The Ruds of Ruds Vedby In 1429, Jørgen Mikkelsen Rud acquired Vedbygård from the king in exchange for Skjoldenæsholm. He died the same year, leaving the estate to his son, Mikkel Jørgensen Rud, who was knighted by King Christopher, probably in connection with his coronation at Ribe in 1443, and served as his vassal () at Kalundborg from 1453–1460, possibly also at Korsør 1458–1462. Slagelse () is a town on Zealand, Denmark. The town is the seat of Slagelse Municipality, and is the biggest town of the municipality. It is located 15 km east of Korsør, 16 km north-east of Skælskør, 33 km south-east of Kalundborg and 14 km west of Sorø.
