Lokaltog
Lokaltog A/S ( en, Local Trains Ltd) is a Danish railway company responsible for train operation and related passenger services on nine local railways on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster in Denmark. The company was formed on 1 July 2015 as a merger of Lokalbanen A/S and Regionstog A/S. Movia owns a part of Lokaltog, whereas buses are owned by companies, subcontractors, that are paid by this transit agency to drive according to contract. Railway lines Lokaltog is responsible for train operation and related passenger services on nine local railways with a combined length of on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster. The numbers are for the table only. There are no official train line numbers for these trains. However 1-4 are railways located at North Zealand , number 5 in the table, is an urban line in the Northernmost of Copenhagen. Hornbæk Line
The Hornbæk Line ( da, Hornbækbanen) is a long standard gauge single track local passenger railway line north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It runs along the coast of Øresund between Helsingør and Gilleleje, through an area with many holiday homes. Tølløse Line
The Tølløse Line ( da, Tølløsebanen) (previously Høng-Tølløse Jernbane (HTJ) is a long standard gauge single track local passenger railway line between Tølløse and Slagelse in the western part of the island of Zealand, Denmark. It runs from Tølløse station on the Northwest Line to Slagelse station on the Copenhagen–Fredericia/Taulov Line, through a mainly rural area. The section from Tølløse to Høng opened in 1901, whereas the section from Høng to Slagelse opened in 1898 as part of the now closed Slagelse-Værslev Line. Odsherred Line
The Holbæk Line (Danish: Holbækbanen) is a long standard gauge single track local passenger railway line linking Holbæk with the town of Nykøbing Sjælland in the northwestern part of the island of Zealand some fifty km west of Copenhagen, Denmark. It takes its name after the Odsherred peninsula. Train services on the Odsherred Line are operated by the railway company Lokaltog. History The railway line was built as a result of the Danish Railway Act of 1894. It was created to strengthen the economic development in Odsherred following the reclamation of Lammefjorden. The original intention was to build a station or halt in each of the civil parishes that contributed to its financing. Holbæk County Council was granted a Concession on the railway on 6 May 1896. Construction began the following year and it opened on 18 May 1899. The operator was Odsherreds Jernbane (OHJ). The Gribskov Line or the Gribskov Railway ( da, Gribskovbanen, GDS) is a local passenger railway line in North Zealand north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Nærum Line
Nærumbanen is a short railway line in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen which serves mainly local neighborhoods in Kongens Lyngby in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality and Nærum in Rudersdal municipality. It is currently operated by the railway company Lokaltog A/S. Lokaltog runs frequent light trains that connect to the S-train system at Jægersborg. History The railway opened as ''Lyngby-Vedbæk railway'' in 1900 with an aim of serving the industries that had settled in the Mølleå valley to exploit the hydraulic power of the Mølleå. In the early years the railway moved freight for these customers, but today it has been a passenger-only railway for many years. The northern half of the railway between Nærum and Vedbæk quickly proved unprofitable and was abandoned in 1923. In 1936 the southern terminus in Lyngby was moved to Jægersborg. The company was formed in 2001, and merged with Regionstog A/S in 2015 to form the railway company Lokaltog A/S. History Owned by the Greater Copenhagen Authority (HUR), Lokalbanen was established in 2001 following HUR's acquisition of the share of the railway lines previously owned by the Danish state. The company headquarters were located in Hillerød; the company also had offices in various stations on the lines it operates.
