Restorations (band)
Restorations is an American rock band, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They formed after the dissolution of Jena Berlin, post-hardcore band from Philly that featured guitarist/singer Jon Loudon on vocals, guitarist Dave Klyman, plus third guitarist Lee Hartney and original drummer Jeff Meyers (Belgrade, Ma Jolie). Originally considered to be a "once-a-month/easy-band" with limited touring the band now tours regularly. The band initially released a 7" with Evil Weevil records featuring the songs "Frankford" and "Of Trees" and then partnered with Paper + Plastick for their Strange Behavior EP release both digitally and on 10" vinyl. After that financial arrangement fell through the band moved on to release their first LP on Tiny Engines. Following this they partnered with SideOneDummy to release ''LP2'' and ''LP3'', both recorded by Jon Low, who has engineered and worked on records for the National, Twin Sister, and others at Miner Street Studio. ''Strange Behavior'' (also known as ''Dead Kids'') is a 1981 slasher film written and directed by Michael Laughlin, co-written with Bill Condon, and starring Michael Murphy, Louise Fletcher, and Dan Shor. Its plot follows a series of bizarre murders being perpetrated against teenagers in a small Midwestern town, at the same time that the local university is engaging in covert mind control experiments on the youth. An international co-production between the United States, New Zealand, and Australia, the film was intended as the first installment of the ''Strange Trilogy'' which was cancelled after the second installment, ''Strange Invaders'', failed to attract a large enough audience. Rosetta is an American post-metal band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania incorporating elements of post-hardcore, shoegazing, drone, post-rock, avant-garde and ambient, with influences as diverse as Neurosis and Isis, My Bloody Valentine, Frodus, and Stars of the Lid. The band somewhat humorously self-describes its music as "metal for astronauts", and its members are very interested in astronomy and space travel. Biography Rosetta's members were all acquaintances in high school, and had played in various bands until they decided to play a last minute gig on August 20, 2003, after only three practice sessions, and improvised the entire show. Following this, they proceeded to write more songs, play more shows, and eventually record a four-song demo album, which picked up interest from Translation Loss Records. The National is an American rock band of Cincinnati, Ohio natives, formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 1999.
