Responsible Autonomy
Responsible Autonomy ( it, Autonomia Responsabile, AR) is a centrist to centre-right political party active in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. The party was launched as a "civic list" in support of Renzo Tondo, incumbent President of The People of Freedom in the 2013 regional election. In the event, Tondo was defeated by Debora Serracchiani of the Democratic Party, but AR obtained 10.7% of the vote and four councillors. Others joined later on. During 2014 AR was organised into a party, under the leadership of president Bruno Tellia, a university professor, and secretary Vanni Lenna, a former member of the Chamber of Deputies. Also, the party was officially joined by Tondo, who became floor leader, replacing Roberto Dipiazza. In 2016 Dipiazza was elected mayor of Trieste and the entire party's leadership was reshuffled: Tellia was replaced as president by Tondo, while Lenna was succeeded as secretary by Giulia Manzan. Renzo Tondo
Renzo Tondo (born 7 August 1956) is an Italian politician, former President of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Early life He graduated in Political Sciences at the University of Trieste. He began his career as a hotel keeper. Career First political experiences Tondo moved into politics with the Italian Socialist Party, with whom he was elected mayor of his hometown Tolmezzo from 1990 to 1995. First gubernatorial term In 1998, Tondo became Regional Councilor with Forza Italia. In 2001 he was appointed President of the Regional Council of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. In 2006, Tondo was elected to the Chamber of Deputies. Second gubernatorial term In 2008, Tondo was re-elected President of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, supported by the centre-right coalition, defeating the incumbent governor Riccardo Illy, who was supported by the Democratic Party. Roberto Dipiazza
Roberto Dipiazza (born 1 February 1953) is an Italian entrepreneur and politician. A member of the centre-right party Forza Italia, he has been mayor of Muggia between 1996 and 2001 and mayor of Trieste between 2001 and 2011 and again since 2016. Career His working career started as a large-scale retail manager before setting up his own business enterprise in Trieste's province. His political debut happened in December 1996 when he was elected Mayor of Muggia as the leader of a centre-right coalition. 2018 Friuli-Venezia Giulia Regional Election
The 2018 Friuli-Venezia Giulia regional election took place on 29 April 2018, to elect the President and the Regional council of the Italian autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The election saw a large victory of the centre-right candidate, Massimiliano Fedriga, with more than 57% of votes and a great showing of the League, followed by the centre-left candidate Sergio Bolzonello, who arrived second with almost 27% of votes, and the Five Star one, who gained less than 12% of votes. Riccardo Illy
Riccardo Illy (born 24 September 1955) is an Italian businessman and former politician. Biography Riccardo Illy was born in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. His paternal grandfather, Francesco Illy, was of Hungarian origin. He's Waldensian. As a young man Illy worked as a skiing instructor at Piancavallo and a sailing instructor at Monfalcone. He married Rossana Bettini, food and wine journalist, at a young age. They have a daughter Daria who is now a Physical Education teacher and personal trainer. Illy started work in the family's coffee making firm illycaffè in 1977, which was founded by his grandfather in 1933. 2018 Italian General Election
The 2018 Italian general election was held on 4 March 2018 after the Italian Parliament was dissolved by President Sergio Mattarella on 28 December 2017. Voters were electing the 630 members of the Chamber of Deputies and the 315 elective members of the Senate of the Republic for the 18th legislature of the Italian Republic since 1948. The election took place concurrently with the Lombard and Lazio regional elections. No party or coalition gained an absolute majority in the parliament, even though the centre-right coalition won a plurality of seats as a coalition, and the Five Star Movement (M5S) won a plurality of seats as an individual party. 2017 Italian Local Elections
The 2017 Italian local elections were held on Sunday 11 June. If necessary, a run-off vote was held on Sunday 25 June. The term of mayors and councils will last five years, unless an early election is triggered. In the autonomous regions of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and Aosta Valley the elections will be held on 7 May. The elections were characterized by a good performance of the Centre-right coalition and many losses for the Centre-left coalition, which however won in the majority of municipalities with more than 15,000 inhabitants, but lost in the most important cities like Genoa, L'Aquila and Parma; while the Five Star Movement was excluded from the runoffs in all the most important cities. The Conservatives and Reformists ( it, Conservatori e Riformisti, CR or CoR) were a broadly conservative and, to some extent, Christian-democratic and liberal political party in Italy, led by Raffaele Fitto. Direction Italy ( it, Direzione Italia, DI) was a liberal-conservative political party in Italy. The party was led by Raffaele Fitto, an MEP in the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group.
