Direction Italy
Direction Italy ( it, Direzione Italia, DI) was a liberal-conservative political party in Italy. The party was led by Raffaele Fitto, an MEP in the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group. History The party was formed in January 2017 during a convention in Rome, which saw the participation of several parties, including Fitto's Conservatives and Reformists (CoR) – formed mainly by splinters from Forza Italia (FI), of which they formed the "Rebuilders" faction, in 2015 –, the Italian Liberal Party (PLI), the Friuli-Venezia Giulia-based Responsible Autonomy (AR), the Sardinian Reformers (RS) and Together for Molise (IpM). The aforementioned parties might retain some or all of their autonomy. In May 2017 the seven senators of DI joined the Great Autonomies and Freedom (GAL) group, composed primarily of minor centre-right parties, while the CoR sub-group in the Chamber maintained its name for some time. In the 2017 local elections the party increased the CoR's vote in ...

List Of Political Parties In Italy
This article contains a list of political parties in Italy since Italian unification in 1861. Throughout history, numerous political parties have been operating in Italy, and since World War II no party has ever gained enough support to govern alone: parties thus form political alliances and coalition governments. In the 2022 general election four groupings obtained most of the votes and most of the seats in the two houses of the Italian Parliament: a centre-right coalition, composed of Brothers of Italy, Lega, Forza Italia, and minor allies; a centre-left coalition, composed of the Democratic Party and minor allies; the anti-establishment Five Star Movement; the liberal Action – Italia Viva. Coalitions of parties for regional elections can be slightly different from those for general elections, due to different regional conditions (for instance, in some regions the Five Star Movement and the Democratic Party are in coalition, but not in other ones) and the presence of ...

Probably in earlier times the lands around Rieti were inhabited by Umbri, then by Aborigines and later on by Sabines, who reached the lands sited in the nearby of Te ...

Alessandria stood in the territories of the marchese of Montferrat, a staunch ally of the Emperor, with a name assumed in 1168 to honour the Emperor's opponent, Pope Alexander III. In 1174–1175 the fortress was sorely tested by the Imperial siege and stood fast. A legend (related in Umberto Eco's book ''Baudolino'', and which recalls one concerning Bishop Herculanus’ successful defence of Perugia several centuries ear ...
