Rosenbach is a village in central Carinthia, Austria, an ''Ortsteil'' of Sankt Jakob im Rosental located a few kilometers southwest of the center of Sankt Jakob, and just northeast of the northern entrance to the Karawanken Tunnel. Carinthia (state)
Carinthia (german: Kärnten ; sl, Koroška ) is the southernmost Austrian state, in the Eastern Alps, and is noted for its mountains and lakes. The main language is German. Sankt Jakob im Rosental ( sl, Šentjakob v Rožu) is a town in the district of Villach-Land in the Austrian state of Carinthia. Geography The municipality borders on Slovenia in the south, and the northern boundary is formed by the Drau River. It lies in the western part of the Rosen valley. Karawanken Tunnel (railway)
The Karawanks Tunnel (german: Karawankentunnel, sl, Predor Karavanke) is the fourth longest railway tunnel in Austria and the longest in Slovenia with a length of (4.96 miles). It passes under Rožca Saddle between Rosenbach in southern Austria and Jesenice in northern Slovenia. Upon opening in October 1906, the Karawanks Tunnel formed an important element of the Karawanken Railway, which was - together with the Bohinj Railway - constructed to connect the port of Trieste with Klagenfurt, the capital of the federal state of Carinthia in Austria. Sankt Veit An Der Glan
Sankt Veit an der Glan (; sl, Šentvid ob Glini) is a town in the Austrian state of Carinthia, the administrative centre of the Sankt Veit an der Glan District. It was the historic Carinthian capital until 1518. The famous chef Wolfgang Puck was born there in 1949.
