David Dias Pimentel (March 18, 1941 – March 16, 2021) was a Portuguese bishop living in Brazil since his youth. His last pastoral work was that of Bishop Emeritus of São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo. Biography Dom David was born in the Archipelago of the Azores, son of João Dias Pimentel and Arminda de Jesus Costa, being the youngest among ten brothers. His studies were carried out in his native land, and at the age of thirteen he entered the Consolata Seminary, in Fátima. In 1960, he came with his family to Brazil and in Botucatu Pimentel went to high school (currently high school). In 1963 he began his studies in philosophy at the Central Seminary of Ipiranga and in 1965, Theology, at the Pontifical Gregorian University, in Rome. José de Aquino Pereira (April 22, 1920 – November 17, 2011) was a Brazilian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. Pereira was born in Brazil and ordained a priest on December 3, 1944 from the Diocese of São Carlos do Pinhal. Pereira was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Dourados on January 23, 1958 and was ordained bishop on April 13, 1958. His next appointment would be to the Diocese of Presidente Prudente on March 26, 1960. Orani João Tempesta (; born on 23 June 1950) is a Brazilian prelate of the Catholic Church who has been archbishop of Rio de Janeiro since 2009. He was previously bishop of São José do Rio Preto from 1997 to 2004 and archbishop of Belém do Pará from 2004 to 2009. Early years Tempesta was born in São José do Rio Pardo in the State of São Paulo. He is the youngest son of the Italian immigrant Achille Tempesta and his Brazilian wife Maria de Oliveira. After completing his elementary and lower secondary-school studies in São José do Rio Pardo, Tempesta entered the Cistercian Monastery of São Bernardo in the same city in 1967. He studied philosophy at the Monastery of São Bento (St. Benedict) in São Paulo, and theology at the Salesian Theological Institute of Pope Pius IX in São Paulo.
