Miss Supranational 2022 was the 13th edition of the Miss Supranational pageant, held on 15 July 2022, at Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland. Chanique Rabe of Namibia crowned Lalela Mswane of South Africa at the end of the event. This edition marked the first back to back win for contestants from Africa, and the first Black woman who won Miss Supranational. Lalela Lali Mswane (born 27 March 1997) is a South African model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Supranational 2022. She was previously crowned Miss South Africa 2021 and represented South Africa at Miss Universe 2021, placing second runner up. Early life and education Mswane was born in Richards Bay, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. Her father, Muntu Mswane, was an Eswatini-born former diplomat and minister who died in 2010, while her mother Hleliselwe worked as an accounts clerk and homemaker. She is the youngest of three children, having an elder brother and sister.
