Renegades (Equilibrium Album)
''Renegades'' is the sixth studio album by the German folk metal band Equilibrium. It is also the first album featuring the band's new clean male vocalist and bassist Martin Berger (Skar Productions) and the new keyboardist Skadi Rosehurst. It was produced from September 2018 to March 2019. Music and lyrics The album, while maintaining some of their signature epic, folk metal roots, sees the band adopting more electronic and modern elements, including clean vocals. Guitarist, leader and main songwriter René Berthiaume commented: The lyrics on the album deal with personal themes, in contrast with the German mythology topics that would be addressed before. Equilibrium (band)
Equilibrium is a German symphonic folk metal band from Bavaria. The band's music combines elements of folk music, pagan metal, melodic black metal and symphonic metal with various other influences. Their riffs reflect traditional Germanic melodies. Their lyrical themes focus on Germanic tales and Germanic mythology. The songs of the band are almost always in German, although most recently they prioritized the English in their songs, mostly with their sixth album ''Renegades'' (2019). History The group toured with Commander and Sycronomica in 2005. The following year they signed a contract with the Nuclear Blast record label and on 27 June 2008 they released their second album, ''Sagas''. Chiptune, also known as chip music or 8-bit music, is a style of synthesized electronic music made using the programmable sound generator (PSG) sound chips or synthesizers in vintage arcade machines, computers and video game consoles. The Hooters
The Hooters are an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band combines elements of rock, reggae, ska, and folk music to create its sound. The Hooters first gained major commercial success in the United States in the mid-1980s due to heavy radio airplay and MTV rotation of several songs, including "All You Zombies", "Day by Day", " And We Danced" and "Where Do the Children Go". "Johnny B" is a song from The Hooters' third studio album '' One Way Home''. It was written by Eric Bazilian, Rick Chertoff and Rob Hyman. "Johnny B" was released as a single in 1987 by Columbia Records, and reached #61 on ''Billboard'' Hot 100 list. The song had considerable success in Germany, topping at #7 for two weeks. An accompanying music video was also released, directed by David Fincher. '' Cash Box'' said that it "is filled with musical textures that enhance the narrative and range from Old World quaintness to gritty guitar-based rock." Folk Metal
Folk metal is a fusion genre of heavy metal music and traditional folk music that developed in Europe during the 1990s. It is characterised by the widespread use of folk instruments and, to a lesser extent, traditional singing styles (for example, Dutch Heidevolk, Danish Sylvatica and Spanish Stone of Erech).
