Reinhold Lahti
Major General Reinhold Lahti (3 June 1930 – 20 March 2002) was a Swedish Army officer. During his career, Lahti attended the Military Academy Karlberg and received his officer's commission in 1954. He continued his education at the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College, rising to the rank of captain and serving at various regiments. He then joined the General Staff Corps, completing additional training in the United States and eventually becoming a lieutenant colonel. Later, he was promoted to colonel and appointed as a regiment commander. In his role as Chief of Home Guard, he implemented significant changes, such as allowing women with military training to join, providing a free magazine to all personnel, and expanding the Home Guard's capabilities. Torne (Finnish And Swedish River)
The Torne, also known as the Tornio ( fi, Tornionjoki, sv, Torne älv, , se, Duortneseatnu, fit, Väylä), is a river in northern Sweden and Finland. For approximately half of its length, it defines the border between these two countries. In the upper parts, the river is situated in Sweden before it meets the Muonio River where it adjoins the international border. It rises at the lake Torneträsk near the border with Norway and flows generally southeast for a distance of into the Gulf of Bothnia. It is the largest river in Norrbotten County both by length and by watershed area. Defence District
A defence district ( sv, Försvarsområde, Fo) was a military subdivision of the Swedish Armed Forces created in 1914. It was a lower regional level subdivision, usually corresponding to a Swedish county. The commander of a defence district was the Defence District Commander, who usually commanded local defence units, including infantry, engineers, air defence and light artillery, as well as any Home Guard units in the district. The commander answered to the larger military district that the defence district was part of. History A defence district was the lowest regional unit in the Swedish Armed Forces. The Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters ( sv, Högkvarteret, HKV) is the highest level of command in the Swedish Armed Forces. Karlstad
Karlstad (, ) is the 20th-largest city in Sweden, the seat of Karlstad Municipality, the capital of Värmland County, and the largest city in the province Värmland in Sweden. The city proper had 65,856 inhabitants in 2020 with 95,167 inhabitants in the wider municipality in 2021, and is the 21st biggest municipality in Sweden. Karlstad has a university and a cathedral. The Swedish Defence University ( sv, Försvarshögskolan, FHS) is situated on Drottning Kristinas väg 37 in Östermalm, Stockholm City Centre, next to the campus of the Royal Institute of Technology. Army Staff ( sv, Arméstaben, Ast) is the staff of the Chief of the Swedish Army. It was originally established in 1937. The Swedish Army Ordnance Corps ( sv, Fälttygkåren, Ftk) was an administrative corps of the Swedish Army established in 1937 (its first instruction on 18 June 1937). The majority of the active officers and some civilian personnel served in the Ordnance Department of the Royal Swedish Army Materiel Administration and its workshops.
