The Swedish Army Ordnance Corps ( sv, Fälttygkåren, Ftk) was an administrative corps of the Swedish Army established in 1937 (its first instruction on 18 June 1937). The majority of the active officers and some civilian personnel served in the Ordnance Department of the Royal Swedish Army Materiel Administration and its workshops. History The corps was established on 1 July 1937 through a merger of the artillery factories and the staff of the Ordnance Depot (''Tyganstalten'') with ''Fortifikationen'' and the Swedish Army Service Troops' ordnance services as well as with the military units' ordnance officers and ordnance non-commissioned officers. The Swedish Army ( sv, svenska armén) is the land force of the Swedish Armed Forces. History Svea Life Guards dates back to the year 1521, when the men of Dalarna chose 16 young able men as body guards for the insurgent nobleman Gustav Vasa in the Swedish War of Liberation against the Danish-dominated Union of Kalmar, thus making the present-day Life Guards one of the world's oldest regiments still on active duty. The Royal Swedish Army Material Administration ( sv, Kungliga Arméförvaltningen, KAF) was a Swedish central government agency that replaced the War Collegium (''Krigskollegium'') in 1865. It was active between the years 1866 and 1954. History The Ministry (''Intendentsdepartementet'') was constituted along with the Artillery Department, Fortification Department, Civil Department, as the Army Materiel Administration, on 1 January 1866.
