Swedish Army Service Troops
The Swedish Army Service Troops ( sv, Trängtrupperna, T or ''Underhållstrupperna'', before 1942 called ''Trängen'') is the military logistics (or train) branch of the Swedish Army. The task of the troops is to train personnel for maintenance units, provide supplies, repair damaged equipment, retract and care for sick personnel as well as in the event of war mobilizing them. The troops are today fully motorized. History In 1885, the first army service unit was established, the Logistic Battalion (''Trängbataljonen'') in Marieberg, Stockholm. It was divided into the Svea Logistic Battalion (T 1) and the Göta Logistic Battalion (T 2) in 1891, the latter being placed in Karlsborg. Sollefteå
Sollefteå () is a locality and the seat of Sollefteå Municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden with 8,562 inhabitants in 2010. The earliest written account on Sollefteå is found in a script dating back to 1270. During this time the name of the village was given as De Solatum - a name that can be interpreted as a composition of ''Sol'' (sun) and ''at'' (property) i.e. literally The sunlit region. Nora, Sweden
Nora is a locality and the seat of Nora Municipality, Örebro County, Sweden with 6,526 inhabitants in 2010. History Nora received its charter in 1643. The government had requested the inhabitants of both Nora and the adjacent town Lindesberg to move together into a newly chartered city called Järle. However, the government proved unsuccessful, and instead granted both Nora and Lindesberg independent charters at that year. Defence Act Of 1925 (Sweden)
The Defence Act of 1925 was a defence act passed by the Swedish Riksdag on 26 May 1925 and came into force on 1 January 1928. The Act specified how the Swedish Armed Forces would operate during the coming years. The Act resulted in a policy of disarmament. The Act would remain effective until the Defence Act of 1936. The new order of battle meant that the number of Army Divisions was decreased to 4. 17 military units were disbanded and conscription time was lowered to 140 days for most conscripts. Many conscripts were transferred to the Army Reserve. The Army and Naval air powers were combined into the Swedish Air Force. Hässleholm
Hässleholm (older da, Hasselholm) is a locality and the seat of Hässleholm Municipality, Scania County, Sweden with 18,500 inhabitants in 2010. Overview Hässleholm was gradually developed from 1860 in connection with the construction of the main Stockholm to Malmö railway line. There was no settlement on the spot before the arrival of the railway. The station got its name from a manor situated in the vicinity of a planned railway junction. The Östgöta Logistic Corps ( sv, Östgöta trängkår, T 6) was a Swedish Army logistic unit operating between 1902 and 1927. The unit was for the longest time based in Linköping. History Östgöta Logistic Corps was formed as the 2nd Göta Logistic Corps (No 6), according to the 1901 Riksdag decision. The corps belonged to the 2nd Army Division. The corps was raised in November 1902 at Wendes Logistic Corps in Landskrona. The corps was initially placed in this corps' barracks. Its 1st Logistic Company was formed in 1902 and in the summer of 1903 the first enlisted conscripts enrolled. In the autumn of 1904, the 2nd Logistic Company and the 3rd Medical Company were formed. The Västmanland Logistic Corps ( sv, Västmanlands trängkår, T 5) was a Swedish Army logistic unit operating between 1902 and 1927. The unit was based in Sala, Västmanland. History Västmanland Logistic Corps was formed as the 2nd Svea Logistic Corps (No 5), according to the 1901 Riksdag decision. The corps was raised on 1 October 1902 in Stockholm as the 2nd Svea Logistic Corps. However, the first conscription training had already begun on 9 May 1902.
