Regina (born Irena Jalšovec, 4 July 1965, Murska Sobota, Yugoslavia — now Slovenia) is a Slovenian singer, best known for her participation in the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest. Murska Sobota (, Slovenian abbreviation: ''MS'' ; german: Olsnitz;''Radkersburg und Luttenberg'' (map, 1:75,000). 1894. Vienna: K.u.k. It is the centre of the Municipality of Murska Sobota near the Mura River in the region of Prekmurje and is the regional capital. Name Officially, the town is known as Murska Sobota, although informally it is usually simply referred to as ''Sobota'' by its inhabitants and ''Murska'' by people from other parts of Slovenia. The settlement was first attested in written documents in 1297 as ''Belmura'' (and as ''Murazombatha'' in 1348 and ''Murazumbota'' in 1366). Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 with the song "Zbudi se" written by Saša Lošić and Zoran Predin. The song was performed by Tanja Ribič. Tanja Ribič (born 28 June 1968) is a Slovenian actress and singer. Biography Ribič graduated from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. She has been a member of Ljubljana City Theatre since 1992. She represented Slovenia at Eurovision Song Contest 1997 with the song " Zbudi se", which finished tenth. Her most noticeable role on television was when she played Magda Velepič in the Slovenian TV series ''Naša mala klinika''. In April 2009 Ribič and Branko Đurić acted in the movie ''Lunina prva noč'', which was played in English language. In 2014 she was a member of the jury in the TV show ''Znan obraz ima svoj glas''.
