Rangpur Express
Rangpur Express is a Bangladeshi Intercity train which runs between Rangpur and Dhaka under Bangladesh Railway. The train was launched in 2011. It is one of the fastest and most luxurious trains in Bangladesh. The train does not operate on Sundays. Bogra ( bn, বগুড়া), officially known as Bogura, is a major city located in Bogra District, Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh. The city is a major commercial hub in Northern Bangladesh. The Panchagarh Express (Train no. 793-794) is a Semi non-stop intercity train which runs between Dhaka (capital of Bangladesh) and the most northern Panchagarh District. The train connects the capital to northern Bengal. History Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this service by videoconference from Dhaka on 25 May 2019. Kurigram Express (Train no. 797-798) is a non-stop intercity train that runs between Dhaka (capital of Bangladesh) and the northern Kurigram District. This train provides a more effective connection between the capital and northern Bengal. History On October 16, 2019, prime minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated this train service by video conference. This named train service is running with the cars imported from Indonesia. The coaches are originately PT INKA rolling stock. Kamalapur Railway Station, officially known as Dhaka Railway Station, is the central railway station in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh. It is the largest station and the busiest infrastructure for transportation in the country that acts as a gateway of the country's capital. Santahar ( bn, সান্তাহার) is a railway junction in Adamdighi Upazila in Bogra District of Rajshahi Division in Bangladesh. History From 1878, the railway route from Kolkata, then called Calcutta, to Siliguri was in two laps. The first lap was a 185 km journey along the Eastern Bengal State Railway from Calcutta Station (later renamed Sealdah) to Damookdeah Ghat on the southern bank of the Padma River, then across the river in a ferry and the second lap of the journey.
