Radionovela
A radionovela (also known as serial radiofónico or simply serial) is a type of radio drama first broadcast in Latin America in the early 20th century. Radionovelas are typically melodramas or soap operas which are issued in chapters, in contrast to other radio dramas which may encompass different genres and are often broadcast as individual works, such as ''The War of the Worlds''. With the advent of television, the radionovela began to be displaced by the telenovela, while the Internet allows for a renewal of the genre in the form of the "" (most notably in the French-speaking world). In Argentina The first example of serial radio drama in Argentina was probably Francisco Mastandrea's ''La caricia del lobo'' in the late 1920s. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs. This makes them shorter than most other television series, but still much longer than a miniseries. Radio Nacional del Paraguay (National Radio of Paraguay) is the public radio broadcaster of Paraguay. Kalimán
''Kalimán'' or ''Kalimán, the Incredible Man'' is a popular Mexican adventurer superhero, created by Rafael Cutberto Navarro and Modesto Vázquez González in 1963. He is the main character of the radio drama bearing his name, which depicts the adventures of Kalimán, a descendant of the Egyptian Pharaohs, and his young companion, Solín. Kalimán is very well known and popular across Latin America, and the radio series spawned a comic book series and two film adaptations. The adventures of Kalimán were published as a serialized weekly comic, and printed for twenty-six consecutive years, with the series reaching its highest popularity in 1965; it is still quite popular today in reprints and in paperback format. Carlos Salgado
Carlos Salgado (May 21, 1940 – October 11, 2007) was a Honduran radio journalist and comedian. Salgado hosted a satirical radio show called ''Bean the Terrible'' and focused on social commentary and the satirising of well-known public figures in Honduras. His career as a popular radio journalist and commentator lasted more than 40 years. Assassination Salgado was shot several times as he left his job at Radio Cadena Voices in Tegucigalpa on October 11, 2007. He was taken to a local hospital in the capital city where he was pronounced dead. Salgado was 67 years old. Salgado's killers escaped. It was unclear exactly why Salgado was murdered, though his radio show often criticized social conditions and politics in Honduras.
