Qingtian Hall
The Qingtian Hall () is a hall in Jinhu Township, Kinmen County, Taiwan. History The hall was originally constructed in 1962 after the Second Taiwan Strait Crisis in 1958 as a place for the stations and posts of the Republic of China Armed Forces and medical shelter. The hall was created by using dynamite. Geology The hall is located at the hillside of Mount Taiwu. Architecture The hall spans over 50 meters long, 18 meters wide and 11 meters high. The hall is connected with other tunnels. Jinhu Township () is an urban township of Kinmen (Quemoy), Fujian Province, Republic of China (Taiwan). It is in the Taiwan Strait, on the coast of mainland China. Jinhu Township is the largest township in Kinmen County. History On July 1, 1953, Canghu Township () was renamed Jinhu Township (), a rural township. In December 1957, Jinhu was changed back into an urban township. In 1959, Jinqiong Township () was created from the two villages Zhengyi and Qionglin. On September 16, 1965, Jinqiong Township was disbanded and the major part of the two villages returned to Jinhu Township. Geography It has a population of 27,368 and an area of . Second Taiwan Strait Crisis
The Second Taiwan Strait Crisis, also called the 1958 Taiwan Strait Crisis, was a conflict that took place between the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC). In this conflict, the PRC shelled the islands of Kinmen (Quemoy) and the Matsu Islands along the east coast of mainland China (in the Taiwan Strait) to "liberate" Taiwan from the Chinese Nationalist Party, also known as the Kuomintang (KMT); and to probe the extent of the United States defense of Taiwan's territory. The Mount Taiwu () is a mountain in Jinhu Township, Kinmen County, Taiwan. It is the highest peak in Kinmen.
