Porbandar State
Porbandar State was a princely state during the British Raj ruled by Jethwa dynasty. It was one of the few princely states with a coastline. The capital of state was the harbour town of Porbandar. Some other important towns of this state were Bhanvad, Chhaya, Ranpar, and Shrinagar. Earlier Shrinagar served as the capital of Jethwas, then Ghumli served as the capital, but was lost to the Jadejas, however, architectural heritage built by them still stands at Ghumli. During the British Raj, the state covered an area of , encompassing 106 villages and a population, in 1921, of over 100,000 people. It enjoyed a revenue of Rs. 21,00,000/-. Chhaya, India
Chhaya is a city and a municipality in Porbandar district and Porbandar Taluka in the state of Gujarat, India. Geography Chhaya is situated on the west bank of the Porbandar creek and the Mokal Ran lies to the west of it. Demographics India census, Chhaya had a population of 38,525. Ghumli
Ghumli is a village located 45 km from Porbandar, at foothills of Barda, in Devbhumi Dwarka district of Gujarat, India. Etymology The Saindhava Copper plates and several inscriptions mention Bhutambilika, Bhumilika, Bhutambilimandal, Bhutambilyan, BhumbhalL Bhubhrutpalli, Bhumbhiliya. Junagadh District
Junagadh district is a district of the Indian state of Gujarat. Its administrative headquarters is the city of Junagadh. Geography The district is located on the Kathiawar peninsula in western Gujarat. It is surrounded by Rajkot District (North), Porbandar District (North-West), Amreli District (East).
