The Dominican Republic Open (also known as The DR Open) was a men's professional golf tournament on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. The event was originally hosted as a combined amateur stableford and professional stroke play competition by The Dominican Golf Federation in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, the tournament was announced as an event on the inaugural PGA Tour Latinoamérica PGA Tour Latinoamérica is a third level professional golf tour formed in 2012 and operated by the PGA Tour. Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
Puerto Plata, officially known as San Felipe de Puerto Plata, is the third-largest city in the Dominican Republic, and capital of the province of Puerto Plata. The city is a trading port. Amateur career Prior to turning professional, Buttacavoli represented the Rice Owls at college and was their leading golfer during the 2009–10 season. 2014 PGA Tour Latinoamérica
The 2014 PGA Tour Latinoamérica was the third season of PGA Tour Latinoamérica, having converted from the Tour de las Américas which ceased to operate in 2012. PGA Tour Latinoamérica is operated and run by the PGA Tour. Schedule changes The number of tournaments increased from 14 to 18, events added to the schedule included: Stella Artois Open, Lexus Panama Classic, Ecuador Open, TransAmerican Power Products CRV Mazatlán Open, and Bridgestone America's Golf Cup. Alexandre Rocha
Alexandre Nardy Rocha (born 21 November 1977) is a Brazilian professional golfer. Rocha was born in São Paulo. He had a successful collegiate career in the United States, where he attended Mississippi State University, before turning professional in 2000. He won tournaments in South America and Canada before qualifying for the European Tour at the end of 2005. He did not win enough money during his rookie season to retain his playing status and returned to qualifying school where he was the joint winner alongside Carlos Rodiles. Having lost his card on the European Tour again at the end of the 2009 season, Rocha qualified for the Asian Tour for 2010. Rodolfo Cazaubón Jr. (born 5 August 1989) is a Mexican professional golfer who currently plays on the Web.com Tour. Rafael Echenique (born 18 October 1980) is an Argentine professional golfer. Early life and amateur career Echenique was born in San Luis, Argentina. He won the Argentine Amateur Rankings in 1997/98. Professional career Echenique turned pro in 1999.
