2014 PGA Tour Latinoamérica
The 2014 PGA Tour Latinoamérica was the third season of PGA Tour Latinoamérica, the main professional golf tour in Latin America, operated and run by the PGA Tour. Schedule changes The number of tournaments increased from 14 to 18. Events that were added to the schedule included; the Stella Artois Open, Lexus Panama Classic, Ecuador Open, TransAmerican Power Products CRV Mazatlán Open and the Bridgestone America's Golf Cup. The Puerto Rico Classic was dropped from the schedule having previously been played in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2014 season. Unofficial events The following events were sanctioned by the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, but did not carry official money, nor were wins official. Order of Merit The Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in U.S. dollars. Julián Etulain
Julián Oscar Etulain (born 21 June 1988) is an Argentine professional golfer who plays on the Korn Ferry Tour. Amateur career Before turning professional in 2008, Etulain had won the Argentine Amateur Championship and had represented Argentina at a number of events including the 2008 Eisenhower Trophy. Professional career In 2009, Etulain was named as the Tour de las Américas Rookie of the Year in his first full season as a professional golfer. Following this, he had a successful 2010 with two wins on the Tour de las Américas and finishing at the top of the Tour de las Americas Order of Merit. In 2011, he won a further two times on the Tour de las Americas finishing fifth on the Order of Merit and in doing so earned his 2012 PGA Tour Latinoamérica card. The Colombian Open, or Abierto de Colombia, is a golf tournament on the Colombian Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamérica that was first played in 1945. It has also on occasion been an event on the Tour de las Américas. Michael Buttacavoli
Michael Anthony Buttacavoli (born March 26, 1988) is an American professional golfer who played on Web.com Tour, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and NGA Pro Golf Tour. Amateur career Prior to turning professional, Buttacavoli represented the Rice Owls at college and was their leading golfer during the 2009–10 season. Professional career Buttacavoli turned professional in 2010 and played on the NGA Pro Golf Tour in 2011 and 2012 seasons before gaining membership to PGA Tour Latinoamérica for the 2013 season. In 2013, Buttacavoli managed two top-10 finishes on PGA Tour Latinoamérica, eventually finishing 30th in the Order of Merit and retaining his playing rights for the 2014 season. Dominican Republic Open
The Dominican Republic Open (also known as The DR Open) was a men's professional golf tournament on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. The event was originally hosted as a combined amateur stableford and professional stroke play competition by The Dominican Golf Federation in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, the tournament was announced as an event on the inaugural PGA Tour Latinoamérica season and the focus of the event was shifted towards the professional stroke play, although the pro–am format was retained. Tyler Kristopher Capps (born September 27, 1983) is an American professional golfer who played on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. Amateur career Prior to turning professional in 2008, Capps represented the Nebraska Cornhuskers of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln at the collegiate level and twice qualified for the U.S. Amateur. Roberto De Vicenzo Invitational Copa NEC
The Roberto De Vicenzo Punta del Este Open Copa NEC was a men's professional golf tournament. First held in 2005 as the Roberto De Vicenzo Classic, it is named after one of Argentina's most successful golfers, Roberto De Vicenzo. The tournament has been held at the San Eliseo Golf Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina until 2012, and moved to the Club de Golf del Uruguay in Montevideo, Uruguay. In 2015, it moved to Club del Lago Golf in Maldonado, Uruguay. All three cities are on the Río de la Plata. William Kropp
William Kropp (born March 12, 1990) is an American professional golfer who plays on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. Kropp turned professional in 2013 after having captained the Oklahoma Sooners golf team during his senior year at the University of Oklahoma. Kropp's first professional win came at the 2013 OK Kids Korral Championship on the Adams Pro Tour. The win and other performances in 2013 earned Kropp his membership on PGA Tour Latinoamérica for the 2014 season. Kropp was quickly able to capitalize achieving his first win on the tour at the Abierto OSDE del Centro in just his fifth start on the tour. With this win, Kropp moved to number 617 and inside the top 1000 on the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career. Abierto Del Centro
The Center Open, or Abierto del Centro, is one of the major regional open golf tournaments in Argentina. Founded in 1927, it has always been held at the Córdoba Golf Club in Córdoba. In 2001, Ángel Cabrera set the course record of 60 in the final round, and also equalled the tournament record aggregate score of 270, set by Ángel Franco in 1992. Roberto De Vicenzo won seven titles between 1943 and 1974. Daniel Mazziotta
Daniel Mazziotta (born September 20, 1988) is an American professional golfer who played on PGA Tour Latinoamérica and Web.com Tour. Mazziotta had a successful college career at Florida Gulf Coast University. He graduated in 2011 with the second best scoring average in the program. He was selected to the Atlantic Sun All-Conference first team in successive years in 2010 and 2011. Turning pro in 2011, Mazziotta initially played his golf on the NGA Pro Golf Tour and the West Florida Golf Tour achieving a combined total of six victories, one on the NGA Pro Golf Tour and five on the West Florida Golf Tour, before earning his PGA Tour Latinoamérica playing rights for the 2014 season. The Mundo Maya Open was a men's professional golf tournament held in Mexico on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. The tournament was the inaugural event on PGA Tour Latinoamérica when it was first hosted in 2012 and has been hosted on the Jack Nicklaus designed El Jaguar course at the Yucatán Country Club since its inception. Armando Favela
Ramón Armando Favela Álvarez (born 23 April 1986) is a Mexican professional golfer who plays on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. Having graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2009 as the most accomplished golfer in the university's history, Favela turned pro the following year. He made his debut on the Web.com Tour in the same year but has failed to be successful on this tour making just three appearances and just one cut on the Web.com Tour.
