Prva A Liga
The Prva A liga, for sponsorships reasons named the Erste Liga, is the top-tier professional basketball league in Montenegro. It is the highest basketball division organized by the Basketball Association of Montenegro (KSCG). It was established in 2006. shortly after Montenegro declared its independence from Serbia and Montenegro. The league is sponsored by and named after Erste Bank. Currently, two clubs from the area are playing in the regional ABA League. The most successful club in the Prva A liga is Budućnost Podgorica, which has won 14 titles, after winning the 2022 championship. The 1983–84 Yugoslav First Basketball League season was the 40th season of the Yugoslav First Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in SFR Yugoslavia. Regular season Classification Results Source: Playoff Teams placed 1st to 6th at the end of the regular season automatically qualified for the playoffs quarterfinal round. The remaining two spots for the playoffs quarterfinal round were determined through a four-team play-in. The 1981–82 Yugoslav First Basketball League season was the 38th season of the Yugoslav First Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in SFR Yugoslavia. The season ended with KK Cibona, Cibona winning the league championship by beating KK Partizan, Partizan two games to none in the playoffs final best-of-three series. The season was another milestone for club basketball in Yugoslavia as the sport began to be played with playoffs at the end of the regular league season, meaning that postseason would determine the league champion rather than regular season as was the case prior to the 1981–82 campaign. Notable events Dražen Petrović's 112-point game The first week of fixtures on 5 October 1985 included a game in Zagreb at Dom Sportova's small hall between Cibona and visiting Smelt Olimpija—a contest that would go down in history for Dražen Petrović's Yugoslav Basketball League single-game scoring record as well as the strange circumstance that allowed it to happen.
