Prague 5, formally the Prague Municipal District (''Městská čast Praha 5''), is a second-tier municipality in Prague. The administrative district (''správní obvod'') of the same name consists of municipal districts Prague 5 and Slivenec. Prague 5 is one of the largest districts of Prague located at the west side of the Vltava river. It comprises Smíchov, Radlice, Košíře, Barrandov, Zlíchov, Zličín, Jinonice, Hlubočepy, Motol, Slivenec, Butovice, Chuchle, and Klukovice, as well as a very small part of Malá Strana. The district was the first one in Prague that offered free wireless internet connection to its citizens. Prague 5 is growing more important since the reconstruction of Anděl on Smíchov. Now, Anděl is the heart of Prague 5, with thousands of offices and one big shopping mall. Also, the underground garages in Anděl are the biggest in Prague. Anděl (neighborhood)
Anděl is a neighbourhood in Prague 5's central district of Smíchov, centered on a busy interchange. The name means 'angel' in Czech and originates from the 19th century ''U zlatého anděla'' (Golden Angel) pub originally named after a fresco in the gable depicting an angel. The painting of an angel was preserved after its demolition and is now displayed nearby the metro station entrance. Anděl is an important traffic center. Prague Metro's Line B runs beneath it, Anděl Station serving the area. Tramway lines in north–south and east–west direction cross there (lines 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 20). Otherwise, it is a pedestrian zone. Újbuda
Újbuda (lit. ''New Buda'') is the 11th district of Budapest ( hu, Budapest XI. kerület), Hungary. It is the most populous district of Budapest with 137,426 inhabitants (2008). Until the 1890s, Újbuda's present territory was a field south of the historical town of Buda. The construction of a new residential area started in the 1900s, the present district was formed in 1930. Twin Towns And Sister Cities
A sister city or a twin town relationship is a form of legal or social agreement between two geographically and politically distinct localities for the purpose of promoting cultural and commercial ties. While there are early examples of international links between municipalities akin to what are known as sister cities or twin towns today dating back to the 9th century, the modern concept was first established and adopted worldwide during World War II. Origins of the modern concept The modern concept of town twinning has its roots in the Second World War. The Silurian ( ) is a geologic period and system spanning 24.6 million years from the end of the Ordovician Period, at million years ago ( Mya), to the beginning of the Devonian Period, Mya. Staropramen Brewery (Pivovary Staropramen s.r.o.) in the Smíchov district of Prague is the second largest brewery in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1869 and the brand name Staropramen, literally meaning “old spring”, was registered in 1911.
