Barrandov Terraces From The South
Barrandov is a neighbourhood in southwest Prague, Czech Republic, located in the cadastral district of Hlubočepy, in Prague 5. It is situated on and around some rock formations above the Vltava River. Barrandov is known for its film industry and the film studios located in the old part of the district. The Czech national television services Nova and Barrandov TV broadcast from here. Old Barrandov consists of the villa quarter, Barrandov Terraces, and Barrandov Studios, and New Barrandov is located to the west of the old part. Barrandov has a population of about 20,000. A new tram line into New Barrandov was built in 2003. The name Barrandov is derived from the fossil-rich rocks that were studied by French geologist Joachim Barrande. The district was named in honour of Barrande on 24 February 1928. Cliff House, San Francisco
The Cliff House is a neo-classical style building perched on the headland above the cliffs just north of Ocean Beach, in the Outer Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The building overlooks the site of the Sutro Baths ruins, Seal Rocks, and is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, operated by the National Park Service (NPS). The Cliff House is owned by the NPS; the building's terrace hosts a room-sized camera obscura. For most of the Cliff House's history, since 1863, the building's main draw has been restaurants and bars where patrons could enjoy the Pacific Ocean views. Since 1977, these restaurants and bars have been run by a private operator under contract with the National Park Service. Dagmar Havlová (born Dagmar Veškrnová on 22 March 1953) is a Czech actress. She married Václav Havel, the former Czech President, on 4 January 1997. She has one daughter, Nina Veškrnová (born 1976), from a previous marriage to Radvít Novák (1975–1980). Early life Havlová was born to Markéta Veškrnová and harmonist Karel Veškrna on 22 March 1953 in Brno. She graduated from the Brno Conservatory in 1971.
