Post-Apocalypto Tour
Post-Apocalypto Tour was a concert tour by American comedy rock band Tenacious D. The tour was in support of the band's YouTube animatic series ''Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto'' and its accompanying soundtrack album ''Post-Apocalypto,'' which were released in November 2018''.'' The tour began on November 3, 2018 and ended on February 26, 2020. This tour surpassed the band's 2012 Rize of the Fenix Tour as the longest Tenacious D tour in October 2019 with over 1.8 million people. Unlike other Tenacious D tours, this tour had a substantial gap from January to May 2019 where there were no performances. Black would later claim that the reason for this hiatus is due to him being required to film '' Jumanji: The Next Level''. Tenacious D
Tenacious D is an American comedy rock duo formed in Los Angeles, California in 1994. It was founded by actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass, who were members of The Actors' Gang theater company at the time. The duo's name is derived from "tenacious defense", a phrase used by NBA basketball sportscasters Walt Frazier and Marv Albert. Prior to the release of Tenacious D's 2001 debut album ''Tenacious D'', the duo had a three-episode TV series released on HBO, with the episodes broadcasting between 1997 and 2000. This series came about after the band had met David Cross on the Los Angeles music scene—and Black featuring in episodes of ''Mr. Show with Bob and David''. The band also befriended former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, which began a working relationship between Foo Fighters and Tenacious D. The Fillmore Detroit is a multi-use entertainment venue operated by Live Nation. Built in 1925, the Fillmore Detroit was known for most of its history as the State Theatre. It is located near the larger Fox Theatre in the Detroit Theatre District along Woodward Avenue across from Comerica Park and Grand Circus Park. The Anthem is a music venue and auditorium in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The venue opened on October 12, 2017, with a performance opened by The Struts and headlined by the Foo Fighters. The Anthem is part of The Wharf, a comprehensive redevelopment of the Southwest Waterfront area.
