Tenacious D
Tenacious D is an American comedy rock duo formed in Los Angeles in 1994 by the actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass. Their music showcases Black's theatrical vocal delivery and Gass' acoustic guitar playing. Critics have described their fusion of vulgar absurdist comedy with rock music as "mock rock". ''Tenacious D'' is a limited television series that ran on HBO from 1997 to 2000. It features the fictional accounts of the real-life comedy rock duo Tenacious D, of the same name, which is composed of members Jack Black and Kyle Gass. All of the episodes of the show are available on Tenacious D's ''The Complete Master Works'' DVD. There were three half-hour episodes total in the season, each containing two segments. Kyle Gass
Kyle Richard Gass (born July 14, 1960) is an American musician and actor, best known for being a member of Tenacious D, a Grammy-winning comedy band. He is also a member of Trainwreck and the Kyle Gass Band. Early life Kyle Richard Gass was born in Walnut Creek, California on July 14, 1960, and he has two brothers. At 8 years old, he learned to play guitar and flute. Then at 28, he was working on his first television appearance with 7up. He attended Las Lomas High School alongside notable alumnus Greg Williams, where he played flute in the marching band, graduating in 1978. He studied acting at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, where he met Tim Robbins. Foo Fighters
The Foo Fighters are an American Rock music, rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. Initially founded as a one-man project by former Nirvana (band), Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, the band comprises vocalist/guitarist Grohl, bassist Nate Mendel, guitarist Pat Smear, guitarist Chris Shiflett, and keyboardist Rami Jaffee. ''Tenacious D'' is the debut studio album by American comedy rock duo Tenacious D, released on September 25, 2001, by Epic Records. The album's polished production was a departure from the band's acoustic origins, due in part to the production of the Dust Brothers. " Wonderboy" was the first single released from the album, followed by "Tribute". Both singles had music videos filmed for them, with the Liam Lynch-directed "Tribute" video achieving cult status.
