Pierre De Moucheron
Pierre de Moucheron (1508–1567) was a wine merchant in Middelburg and later in Antwerp, and the central figure in a family portrait now in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. Life Moucheron, the son of Jean de Moucheron (ca. 1490-1543), lord of Boulay, and Marguerite de Coeuvres (ca. 1485-1532), was born in 1508 at Roussy le Farcque, near Verneuil-sur-Avre, Normandy. He was apprenticed to Antonie de Gerbier, a wholesaler in Middelburg, and in 1535 married his master's daughter, Isabeau de Gerbier. They had many children, ten of whom are known by name: Gaspard, François (ca. 1557–after 1610), Pieter, Magdalena, Balthazar (1552-1609), Melchior (1557–after 1617), Thomas, Catharine, Marguerite, and Jacqueline.J.C.E. Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum () is the national museum of the Netherlands dedicated to Dutch arts and history and is located in Amsterdam. Verneuil-sur-Avre
Verneuil-sur-Avre (, literally ''Verneuil on Avre'') is a former commune in the Eure department in Normandy in northern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Verneuil d'Avre et d'Iton. History Following the revolt of the nobles of 1118-1120, Verneuil-sur-Avre was founded in 1120 by Henry I, the fourth son of William the Conqueror. Some of the main rebels were Richer de l'Aigle, Robert de Neubourg and Eustace of Breteuil who all possessed territory in the surrounding area. Once these rebels submitted to Henry I, the fortifications in Verneuil-sur-Avre were intended to control the region. In August 1424, during the Hundred Years' War the battle of Verneuil was fought just to the north of the town. An English army of 9,000 men beat a joint Franco-Scottish army of 15,000 men and as a result gained control of Normandy and Aquitaine and destroyed Scottish participation in the war. Duchy Of Brabant
The Duchy of Brabant was a State of the Holy Roman Empire established in 1183. Habsburg Netherlands was the Renaissance period fiefs in the Low Countries held by the Holy Roman Empire's House of Habsburg. Frederik De Moucheron
Frederik de Moucheron (1633 – 5 January 1686) was a Dutch Golden Age landscape painter and draughtsman. He mainly produced (Italianate) landscapes that were furnished with human and animal figures by various colleagues. Biography Frederik de Moucheron was the son of the painter Balthazar de Moucheron and Cornelia van Brouckhoven. His father came from a wealthy family of merchants and wine traders and is portrayed as one of the younger sons in the family portrait of Pierre de Moucheron (1583). Frederik trained with Jan Asselijn and became a landscape painter. He set off at age 22 for Paris, where he spent three years and made a tour to Lyon, Italy and Greece. In 1659 he settled in Amsterdam ( Jordaan) and married Mariecke de Jouderville, the daughter of Isaac de Jouderville; they had eight children when he died. He is buried in Amsterdam.
