Phrom Khiri District
Phrom Khiri ( th, พรหมคีรี, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. History On 26 August 1974 the minor district (''king amphoe'') Phrom Khiri was formed with the three ''tambons'' Phrom Lok, Ban Ko, and In Khiri split from Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat district. On 13 July 1981 it was upgraded to a full district. Geography Phrom Khiri is located from Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport, and taking approximately 20 minutes to reach. The district is located in the midst of rubber plantations and surrounded by lush forests. There're small streets cutting through to allow access to the village. Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise): Nopphitam, Tha Sala, Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat, Lan Saka, and Phipun. Administration The district is divided into five sub-districts (''tambons''), which are further subdivided into 39 villages (''mubans''). King Amphoe
An amphoe (sometimes also ''amphur'', th, อำเภอ, )—usually translated as "district"—is the second level administrative subdivision of Thailand. Groups of ''amphoe'' or districts make up the provinces, and are analogous to counties. The chief district officer is ''Nai Amphoe'' (). ''Amphoe'' are divided into ''tambons'', ( th, ตำบล), or sub-districts. Altogether Thailand has 928 districts, including the 50 districts of Bangkok, which are called '' khet'' (เขต) since the Bangkok administrative reform of 1972. The number of districts in provinces varies, from only three in the smallest provinces, up to the 50 urban districts of Bangkok. Also the sizes and population of districts differ greatly. Thesaban Tambon
Thesaban ( th, เทศบาล, , ) are the municipalities of Thailand. There are three levels of municipalities: city, town, and sub-district. Bangkok and Pattaya are special municipal entities not included in the ''thesaban'' system. Muban
Muban ( th, หมู่บ้าน; , ) is the lowest administrative sub-division of Thailand. Usually translated as 'village' and sometimes as 'hamlet', they are a subdivision of a tambon (subdistrict). , there were 74,944 administrative mubans in Thailand. As of the 1990 census, the average village consisted of 144 households or 746 persons. Nomenclature ''Muban'' may function as one word, in the sense of a hamlet or village, and as such may be shortened to ''ban''. Tambon
''Tambon'' ( th, ตำบล, ) is a local governmental unit in Thailand. Below district (''amphoe'') and province (''changwat''), they form the third administrative subdivision level. there were 7,255 tambons, not including the 180 ''khwaeng'' of Bangkok, which are set at the same administrative level, thus every district contains eight to ten tambon. Lan Saka ( th, ลานสกา, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. History The district was at first a minor district (''king amphoe'') named Khao Kaeo (เขาแก้ว), which was a subordinate of Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat district. Nopphitam District
Nopphitam ( th, นบพิตำ, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. History The district was created on 1 April 1995 by splitting off the four western ''tambons'' from Tha Sala district. On 15 May 2007, all 81 minor districts were upgraded to full districts. On 24 August, the upgrade became official. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the northeast clockwise): Sichon, Tha Sala, Phrom Khiri and Phipun of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and Ban Na San and Kanchanadit of Surat Thani province. Nakhon Si Thammarat International Airport ( th, ท่าอากาศยานนครศรีธรรมราช is an airport serving Nakhon Si Thammarat, a town in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand. History The airport's first landing was on 1 December 1998 by Thai Airways and PBair from Bangkok. Beginning in 1985, Nakhon Si Thammarat used Cha-ian Airport (Army Region 4) temporarily. Thai Airways flew from Surat Thani to Nakhon Si Thammarat on Short 360 aircraft. Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport then had Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, One-Two-Go as airlines. Thai Airways and PBair later suspended service. In July 2008, the Department of Civil Aviation (Thailand) suspended the certificate of One Two Go (operated by Orient Thai Airlines) from 22 July to 15 September. Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat ( th, อำเภอเมืองนครศรีธรรมราช, ) is the capital district (''amphoe mueang'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province in southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the southeast clockwise): Pak Phanang, Chaloem Phra Kiat, Phra Phrom, Lan Saka, Phrom Khiri and Tha Sala. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand.
