Per Gunnar Jonson
Per Gunnar Jonson (11 April 1910 – 16 October 1975) was a Norwegian cinematographer and ski jumper. Cinematography Jonson shot a short film about skiing in Karpathos, which impressed German director Leni Riefenstahl, and she hired him as an assistant director for the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He primarily worked as a cinematographer on Norwegian films, in addition to occasionally working as a director and producer. At the end of his career he established his own film production company. Ski jumping In 1934, Per Jonson participated in an international competition at the Bloudek Giant in Planica, making a jump meters long. In another jump, outside the competition, he landed at with a fall. His was one of the best ski jumpers of his time, competing together with legends such as Birger Ruud and his brother Sigmund Ruud. ''Emergency Landing'' ( no, Nødlanding) is a 1952 Norwegian war film directed by Arne Skouen. It was entered into the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. The film depicts the Norwegian resistance attempting to hide shot-down American aviators from the German occupation forces. Plot An American bomber is shot down on the Norwegian coast during World War II. The airmen bail out and land at different locations. In spite of the German search for them, the Norwegian resistance picks them up and hides them in the attic of the local church, a center of operations. Things become tense, however, when the hideout is spotted by a notorious collaborator, and soon the protagonist, Hans (Henki Kolstad), has to get the airmen to Sweden. ''Trine!'' is a Norwegian black-and-white drama film from 1952 directed by Toralf Sandø. Eva Røine starred in the title role. The film was based on Hans Geelmuyden's novel ''Trine!'', and Geelmuyden wrote the script for the film together with Sandø. Plot Per Gjerpen works as a salesman and accountant. One day he sees Trine while he is out on a sales tour. He buys her two lottery tickets. This is the beginning of a contact that later deepens into a love affair. The couple discovers that they have won a house in the lottery, but it later turns out not to be true. The numbers were read incorrectly. Instead, they are able to use a house owned by Aunt Andrea. ''Trollfossen'' is a Norwegian film from 1948. It was directed by Alf Scott-Hansen and featured Ola Isene and Wenche Foss in the lead roles. The film tells the story of the skilled pianist Sylvia Strøm (Wenche Foss), who is forced by her husband, the unscrupulous hydropower developer Director Strøm (Ola Isene), to sacrifice music for electrification. ''Sankt Hans fest'' (St. John's Festival or Saint Hans' Celebration) is a Norwegian film directed by Toralf Sandø. It premiered on April 7, 1947. It is based on the 1887 novel ''Sankt Hans Fest'' by Alexander Kielland. Plot The film follows the plot of the novel. The dour priest Kruse is played by Tore Foss, who opposes the business establishment's town party, which is planned by Johannes Eckhoff as Garman, Jon Lennart Mjøen as Randulf, Claus Wiese as Holck, Erling Drangsholt as the bank manager, and Sigurd Magnussøn as the county governor.
