Kranes Konditori
''Kranes konditori'' (Krane's Café) is a Norwegian drama film from 1951 directed by Astrid Henning-Jensen. Henning-Jensen also wrote the screenplay, which was based on Cora Sandel's novel of the same name. Plot The film takes place in a small Norwegian coastal town and follows the life of Katinka Stordal (Rønnaug Alten). The film depicts her loneliness and longing for love. The only man she has ever loved has left her without saying goodbye. From her children she receives neither tenderness nor kindness—only hard, cold demands. Katinka fights to keep her home together. One day she meets the Swedish sailor Stivhatten (Erik Hell) at Krane's Café. There is fresh gossip about the meeting between them in the town, and Katinka's behavior arouses outrage among many: Is she thinking of leaving her home and children? Astrid Henning-Jensen
Astrid Henning-Jensen (born Astrid Smahl; 10 December 1914 – 5 January 2002) was a Danish film director, actress, editor and screenwriter. Early life Henning-Jensen was born in the Copenhagen district of Frederiksberg in 1914, to parents Ferdinand Smahl and Ruth Hanner. She graduated from secondary school (''realskole'') and began working as an actress in the theatre. She acted from 1935 to 1938 in theatres such as ''Alléscenen'' and ''Riddersalen'' in Copenhagen. On 10 August 1938, she married Danish film director Bjarne Henning-Jensen. Career Her marriage to Bjarne Henning-Jensen was of great importance to her career. Pauline Margrete Hall (2 August 1890 – 24 January 1969) was a Norwegian composer and music critic. She was the founding chairwoman of Ny Musikk (1938–1961) and served as president of the International Society for Contemporary Music (1952–1953). Background Pauline Hall was born at Hamar in Hedmark, Norway. She was the daughter of Isak Muus Hall (1849–1914) and Magdalena Catharina Agersborg (1854–1934). Turid Haaland
Turid Haaland (June 23, 1908 – October 12, 1979) was a Norwegian actress. Haaland debuted in 1926 at the Norwegian Theater. She played the daughter in Runar Schildt's play ''Den store rolla'', and the character's parents were played by her real parents, Mally Carenius Haaland and Ingjald Haaland, who were both actors. Marit Halset
Marit Halset (May 18, 1912 – March 22, 1986) was a Norwegian actress. She performed roles in theater, radio theater, and film. Halset was engaged with the National Theater in Oslo from 1933 to 1948. She debuted as the young girl Hazel Niles in Eugene O'Neill's play ''Mourning Becomes Electra'' in the spring of 1933. There she performed together with Johanne Dybwad, August Oddvar, and Ingolf Schanche. Later, she performed significant roles as sensitive young girls, and she ended her time at the National Theater by playing Leonora in Ludvig Holberg's '' The Fidget'' in 1948.
