PIPA Beach Polo World Series
The PIPA Beach Polo World Series is an international series of beach polo tournaments organized by PIPA Polo Instructors and Players Association in cooperation with A Quechua World of Polo. It is the largest international beach polo tour. The rules are similar to arena polo. About Beach polo tour events are played in stadiums in touristic destinations, like in Lignano Sabbiadoro for example where the worldwide largest beach polo arena is located. National teams compete in teams of two players each and fight in several events for the world championship title. The PIPA tournament series are featured by some equestrian but also sports media. Beach Polo
Beach polo is a team sport and close variant of arena polo. Game play A game of beach polo consists of two three-player teams as opposed to the usual four-player teams in field polo. A game consists of four seven-minute periods of play, called ''chukkers''. The game is played in an enclosed sand arena with sideboards of approximately four feet in height, designed to keep the ball in play. Depending on playing areas available, some of the playing arenas have enclosed ends while others allow for 20 yards of run out room for the horses, past the end line, and utilize standing goal posts. Two umpires are suggested for tournament play which may be stationed outside the arena to officiate the game. Penalties are called and resulting free hits are awarded to the fouled party. Traditional polo ponies are used with players changing horses following each chukker. PIPA Polo Instructors And Players Association
The Polo Instructors´ and Players´ Association (with or without the apostrophe) is the usual term for the worldwide organization of polo players and instructors. The organization is responsible for both male and female players and instructors. Tasks and Goals The main aim of the association is to develop polo as a sport accessible for everybody and to set high educational and infrastructural standards for Polo schools all across the world. Therefore, PIPA develops and establishes polo academies and polo schools worldwide and enables existing polo schools or clubs to become a partner. PIPA also ensures that polo trainers are always up-to-date and educated in regard to technical standards and know-how. Arena Polo

Lignano Sabbiadoro (; fur, Lignan) is a town and comune within the province of Udine, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of north-eastern Italy.
