Hallein () is a historic town in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is the capital of Hallein district. Geography The town is located in the ''Tennengau'' region south of the City of Salzburg, stretching along the Salzach river in the shadow of the Untersberg massif, close to the border with Germany in the west. With a population of about 21,150, Hallein is the second largest town of the Salzburg state. The municipal area comprises the cadastral communities of Adnet II, Au, Burgfried, Dürrnberg, Gamp, Gries, Hallein proper, Oberalm II, and Taxach. Karl Moik (19 June 1938 – 26 March 2015) was an Austrian television presenter and singer. Life Moik was born in Linz. He became famous in Austria, Germany, German-speaking Switzerland and South Tyrol as the television presenter of the music show ''Musikantenstadl'', an Austrian-German-Swiss co-production (Eurovision). He presented the ''Musikantenstadl'' from 1981 to 2005, earning him the honorary title by fans as ''Mr. Musikantenstadl''. He died in Salzburg, aged 76, and was buried in Oberalm. Adnet is a town in the district of Hallein, in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is famous for its marble and there is a marble museum in the middle of the town. Geography Adnet is situated near Hallein in the metropolitan area of Salzburg. Urban districts are: Adnet, Riedl, Spumberg, Waidach, Wimberg. The highest point is just beneath the ''Jägernase'' (a mountain slope of the local mountain Schlenken) about above sea level. Musikantenstadl
Musikantenstadl is a live television entertainment program broadcast in the German language throughout Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. It features Austrian, Swiss, and German popular folk music ( Schlager, Volkstümliche Musik), international pop and folk music as well as interviews and comedy. As a production of Eurovision, is co-produced by the Österreichischer Rundfunk, Bayerischer Rundfunk and Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen. Aside from the live television broadcasts it also tours in Austria and Germany as live concerts. It is currently hosted by Andy Borg and its location of broadcast varies between towns in different regions in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
