The North Coast Roadside Rest Areas are a group of three heritage-listed rest areas in Queensland, Australia. Petrie is a suburb in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Petrie had a population of 8,674 people. Geography The southern boundary of the suburb is marked by the North Pine River. Petrie is a suburban village with new housing developments on land which was previously used for pine plantations and agriculture. Montville is a rural town and locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Montville had a population of 970 people. Geography Montville is in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, on the Blackall Range, around above sea level in the town area. Maleny–Montville Road enters from the south, Montville–Mapleton Road exits to the north, and Woombye–Montville Road enters from the east. History The first white settlers arrived in the area in 1887. The town was originally called ''Razorback'', but was renamed following a community meeting. Cairns
Cairns (, ) is a city in Queensland, Australia, on the tropical north east coast of Far North Queensland. Harry Bruce (politician)
Henry Adam Bruce (16 May 1884 – 11 October 1958), known as Harry Bruce, was an Australian politician and former union organiser. First entering state politics in Queensland before later entering Parliament of the Commonwealth. Biography Born in Wandiligong, Victoria, he was educated at Haileybury College in Melbourne before moving to Queensland to become a bushworker in 1902. Later, he was a sugar grower and an organiser of the Australian Workers' Union (AWU). In 1923 Bruce was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland as the Labor member for the district of Kennedy. In 1932, he was elected as member for The Tableland. In that year he was appointed Secretary of Public Works; in 1938 he was also made Secretary of Public Instruction, a position he held until 1941. Eumundi is a rural town and locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Eumundi had a population of 2,221 people. Eumundi is very popular on the coast for its bi-weekly farmers' markets. The marketplace is full of locally-made produce, which has made Eumundi and the surrounding area a haven for small businesses.
