Nepal Bar Council
Nepal Bar Council is an independent legal institution established by the Nepal Bar Council Act, 1993 with a major objective to regulate law practice in Nepal. It conducts examination for issuing the licence for law practice and keeps record of the law practitioners. Membership Any Nepali Citizen who passed the Legal Practitioner examination with five years of experience can take part in the membership process. Legal Practitioner is the one who passed Bachelor degree while a Pleader is one who passes the intermediate degree in law. The Supreme Court of Nepal ( ne, सर्वोच्च अदालत) is the highest court in Nepal. It has appellate jurisdiction over decisions of the seven High Courts (including eleven Benches of the High Courts) and extraordinary original jurisdiction. The court consists of twenty Justices and one Chief Justice. Composition The Supreme Court is composed of the Chief Justice, twenty Justices. Tribhuvan University
Tribhuvan University (TU; ne, त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालय) is a public university located in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. Established in 1959, TU is the oldest university in Nepal. In terms of enrollment, it is the 12th largest university in the world. The college offers 1000 undergraduate and 500 postgraduate programs across a wide range of disciplines. Nepal Engineering Council
Nepal Engineering Council is an autonomous government body formed on 11 March 1999 under The Nepal Engineering Council Act. The council was established in order to mobilize the engineering profession in a systematic and scientific manner by making it effective, as well as to make provision for, among other matters, the registration of the names of engineers as per their qualifications. The council used to register engineers based on academic certificates until 2022. An amendment bill was registered in the parliament in June 2019 and was passed in August 2022 which makes mandatory to take exams from the council to get license. Education In Nepal
The educational system in Nepal was long based on home-schooling and ''gurukulas''. This was similar to the former Indian system of education, in which the pupils would learn either in their homes or with reputed priests or Gurus. Before Nepal was declared a democratic country, the general public had no access to formal education. The first formal school, Durbar High School, established by Jung Bahadur Rana in 1853, was intended for the elite. The birth of Nepalese democracy in 1951 opened its classrooms to a more diverse population. Education in Nepal from the primary school to the university level has been modeled from the very inception on the Indian system, which is in turn the legacy of the old British Raj.
