Nepal Bar Association
The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) is the parent bar association of all the bar units throughout Nepal. Established in 1956, Nepal Bar Association has been fundamental in the development of the legal field in Nepal. It has played a vital role in the bar and bench relation, independence of judiciary, human rights, people's movement and the overall development of the legal field in Nepal. Bar Association
A bar association is a professional association of lawyers as generally organized in countries following the Anglo-American types of jurisprudence. The word bar is derived from the old English/European custom of using a physical railing to separate the area in which court business is done from the viewing area for the general public. Some bar associations are responsible for the regulation of the legal profession in their jurisdiction; others are professional organizations dedicated to serving their members; in many cases, they are both. In many Commonwealth jurisdictions, the bar association comprises lawyers who are qualified as barristers or advocates in particular, versus solicitors (see ''bar council''). Membership in bar associations may be mandatory or optional for practicing attorneys, depending on jurisdiction. Legal profession is a profession in which legal professionals study, develop and apply law. Usually, there is a requirement for someone choosing a career in law to first obtain a law degree or some other form of legal education. Nepal Bar Council
Nepal Bar Council is an independent legal institution established by the Nepal Bar Council Act, 1993 with a major objective to regulate law practice in Nepal. It conducts examination for issuing the licence for law practice and keeps record of the law practitioners. Membership Any Nepali Citizen who passed the Legal Practitioner examination with five years of experience can take part in the membership process. Legal Practitioner is the one who passed Bachelor degree while a Pleader is one who passes the intermediate degree in law.
