Võru (; vro, Võro; german: Werro) is a town and a municipality in south-eastern Estonia. It is the capital of Võru County and the centre of Võru Parish. History Võru was founded on 21 August 1784, according to the wish of the Empress Catherine II of Russia, by the order of Riga Governor general count George Browne, on the site of the former Võru estate. Geography and climate The town is situated on the shore of Lake Tamula. Võru has a humid continental climate (''Dfb'' according to the Köppen climate classification) with warm summers and cold winters. Surrealist
Surrealism is a cultural movement that developed in Europe in the aftermath of World War I in which artists depicted unnerving, illogical scenes and developed techniques to allow the unconscious mind to express itself. Its aim was, according to leader André Breton, to "resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a super-reality", or ''surreality.'' Enn Kasak (born on 24 September 1954 Navi, Võru County) is an Estonian philosopher and astrophysicist. 1981 he graduated from University of Tartu in astrophysics speciality. 1981-1995 he worked at Tõravere Observatory. 1998-2007 he taught at Tallinn University.
