The National Prize of Chile ( es, Premio Nacional de Chile) is the collective name given to a set of awards granted by the government of Chile through the Ministry of Education and, as of 2003, by the National Council of Culture and the Arts. They are presented by the President of the Republic at an official ceremony held at La Moneda Palace. Chile
Chile, officially the Republic of Chile, is a country in the western part of South America. The National Prize for Plastic Arts ( es, Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas) was created in Chile in 1992 under Law 19169 as one of the replacements of the National Prize of Art of Chile, National Prize of Art. It is granted "to the person who has distinguished himself by his achievements in the respective area of the arts" (Article 8 of the aforementioned law). It is part of the National Prize of Chile. National Prize For Sciences (Chile)
The National Prize for Sciences ( es, Premio Nacional de Ciencias) was an award that was part of the National Prize of Chile until 1992. It was created by law 16746, promulgated on 24 January 1968, and published in the ''Official Journal'' on 14 February of the same year. This made the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) an autonomous body with legal personhood. This prize was granted to the Chilean scientist or team of scientists whose work in the field of pure or applied sciences was entitled to such distinction (per Article 2 of Law 16746). Initially it was granted annually, being modified by Law 17595 of 1972, which ordered that it would be given every two years. In 1992, through Law 19169, it was replaced by the National Prizes for Exact Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Applied Sciences and Technologies. National Prize For Education Sciences (Chile)
The National Prize for Education Sciences ( es, Premio Nacional de Ciencias de la Educación, links=no) was created in 1979 and is awarded every two years, in accordance with Law 19169 of 1992. It is part of the National Prize of Chile granted by the Ministry of Education. The jury electing the winner is formed by the Minister of Education, the Rector of the University of Chile, the last awardee, and two professors appointed by the Council of Rectors among the universities that deliver the Bachelor of Science in Education.
