Narus River, Uganda
The Narus River flows in a northwesterly direction through the southern portion of Kidepo Valley National Park in northern Uganda, joining the larger Kidepo River near Komoloich, about after entering Eastern Equatoria state of South Sudan. The name ''Narus'' is derived from the Karamajong word for mud. The Narus Valley has a 40% higher mean annual precipitation than the Kidepo Valley ( versus ). South Sudan

Karamoja
Karamoja sub-region, commonly known as Karamoja, is a region in Uganda. It covers an area of 27,528km and comprises Kotido District, Kaabong District, Karenga District, Nabilatuk District Abim District, Moroto District, Napak District, Amudat District and Nakapiripirit District. Kaabong
Kaabong is a town in the Northern Region of Uganda. It is the chief municipal, administrative and commercial center of Kaabong District, and the district headquarters are located there. Eastern Equatoria
Eastern Equatoria is a state in South Sudan. It has an area of 73,472 km². The capital is Torit. On October 1, 1972, the state was divided into Imatong and Namorunyang states and was re-established by a peace agreement signed on 22 February 2020. Kidepo Valley National Park is a national park in the Karamoja region in northeast Uganda. Kidepo is rugged savannah, dominated by the Mount Morungole and transected by the Kidepo and Narus rivers. Karamojong Language
The Karamojong language (spelled ''ŋaKarimojoŋ'' or ''ŋaKaramojoŋ'' in Karamojong; Ngakarimojong or N'Karamojong in English) is a Nilotic language spoken by the Karamojong people in Northeast Uganda. Ngakarimojong is a Nilotic language of the Nilo-Saharan language family (Encyclopædia Britannica) spoken by at least 370,000 people in Uganda – the Karamojong people, or ''ŋiKarimojoŋ'' in their language. The name approximates to "the old men sat down", dating from a time of migration 300 or more years ago when this group refused to travel further on (to what is now Teso).
