Mimi Areme
Mimi Areme (September 28, 1988) is a Ghanaian beauty queen who was crowned as Miss Ghana 2009. Areme later competed in the Miss World 2010 pageant in the southern Chinese city of Sanya on October 30, where Miss USA, Alexandria Mills, was crowned the overall winner. Miss Ghana 2009 Twenty-year-old Miss Mimi Areme, an HND Marketing student of the Sunyani Polytechnic, was elected Miss Ghana 2009 at the grand finale of the national pageant at the Accra International Conference Centre. As part of her pageant prize, Ms. Areme drove home a new Tata Safari 4X4 automobile. The car keys were handed to her by the Minister of Tourism, Mrs Juliana Azumah-Mensah, moments after Areme was declared Ghana's 2009 beauty queen by 2008 winner, Miss Mawuse Appea. Volta Region
Volta Region (or Volta) is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan peoples. Miss World 2010, the 60th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, was held on 30 October 2010 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China after Vietnam backed out of the hosting contract. 121 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Beauty With A Purpose
Julia Evelyn Morley (née Pritchard; born 25 October 1939) is a British businesswoman, charity worker, and former model. She is the chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, which organizes the Miss World and Mister World. She is the widow of Miss World creator, the late Eric Morley who was in charge of organizing the pageant from its inception in 1951 until his death in 2000. Life and career Born in London, she worked as a model, and met Eric Morley, then a director of Mecca Dancing, at a dance hall in Leeds; the couple married in 1960. She became chairman of Miss World after her husband died in 2000. As chairman of Miss World, she introduced "Beauty With A Purpose", which raises money in support of sick and disadvantaged children. Alexandria Nichole Mills (born February 26, 1992) is an American model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 2010 on October 30, 2010, in Sanya, China. Mills is the third woman from the United States to win Miss World. Early life Mills, a resident of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, had an interest in modeling at least as early as the eighth grade; following Mills' victory in Miss World 2010, a counselor at her middle school recalled that she had a modeling portfolio even then.
