MTV Select
''MTV Select'' was an interactive music television program airing on MTV Europe, MTV channels across Europe and later on MTV Japan, MTV Canada, and MTV India. The show was hosted by a VJ (media personality), VJ, and viewers were able to contact the programme (using technologies like SMS) to request a music video from a list of songs chosen by the show's producers. ''969'' (formally called ''MTV Select'' or ''Select'') was a one-hour lifestyle magazine show. It was produced from the Citytv building in Vancouver, British Columbia. The show was hosted by Malaika Jackson, Joel Herrod, Chris Van Vliet and Lauren Toyota. It features interviews with bands, celebrities and professional athletes. It also showcased the latest in youth fashion and gives reviews of the hottest video games and movies. Viewers were able to make requests to see music videos through the show's website. MTV2 is a Canadian pay television channel focused on lifestyle and general entertainment programming aimed at youth and teen audiences. CKXT-DT was a broadcast television station based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that broadcast to much of southern and eastern Ontario. It was owned by Quebecor Media through its Groupe TVA unit.
