The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) ( my, မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ ဘောလုံး အဖွဲ့ချုပ်) is the governing body of association football, football in Myanmar. The MFF oversees the Burmese Myanmar national football team, men's national team, the Myanmar women's national football team, women's national team, and youth national teams as well as national football championships and professional club competitions. Yangon
Yangon ( my, ရန်ကုန်; ; ), formerly spelled as Rangoon, is the capital of the Yangon Region and the largest city of Myanmar (also known as Burma). Yangon served as the capital of Myanmar until 2006, when the military government relocated the administrative functions to the purpose-built capital city of Naypyidaw in north central Myanmar. With over 7 million people, Yangon is Myanmar's most populous city and its most important commercial centre. Asian Games
The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation. The Games are recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games. There have been nine nations that have hosted the Asian Games. Youri Djorkaeff
Youri Raffi Djorkaeff (born 9 March 1968) is a French former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder or forward. Throughout his club career, he played for teams in France, Italy, Germany, England, and the United States. At international level, Djorkaeff scored 28 goals in 82 appearances with the French national team between 1993 and 2002. He won the 1998 FIFA World Cup, Euro 2000, and the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup, also taking part at Euro 1996 and the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He is the son of former player Jean Djorkaeff. Myo Thein Gyi
Myo Thein Gyi ( my, မျိုးသိမ်းကြီး; born 2 September 1965) is the former Minister for Education of Myanmar. He previously served as Professor of Mathematics Department, Dagon University, Director General of Department of Myanmar Education Research and Rector of West Yangon University. He became Minister of Education after Aung San Suu Kyi on 6 April 2016. During the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état on 1 February, Myo Thein Gyi was placed under house arrest by the Myanmar Armed Forces. Myint Htwe ( my, မြင့်ထွေး ; born 24 September 1948) is a Burmese politician, public health physician, and former Minister for Health and Sports of Myanmar . Early life and education Myint Htwe was born on 24 September 1948 in Sittwe, Burma (now Myanmar) to Shwe Tha Htwe and Aye Yi. From 1966 until 1973, he studied at the Institute of Medicine (1), in Rangoon and graduated with a MBBS. Aung San Suu Kyi (; ; born 19 June 1945) is a Burmese politician, diplomat, author, and a 1991 Nobel Peace Prize laureate who served as State Counsellor of Myanmar (equivalent to a prime minister) and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2021. The Women's League (WL) ( my, မြန်မာ အမျိုးသမီး လိဂ်) is a Myanmar professional league for women's football clubs. At the top of the Myanmar football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 8 teams. The Myanmar League is a corporation in which the 8 member teams. General Aung San Shield
General Aung San Shield (formerly ''MFF Cup'') is the top football knockout tournament in Myanmar. On 26 March 2014, MFF League Committee Meeting decides the knock-out cup (General Aung San Shield) winner would compete in ''Toyota Mekong Championship'' as well as earning the ticket for the AFC Cup. (in Burmese) The tournament is currently sponsored by Military of Defence. Ayeyawady United are the most successful team after winning the tournament for the two consecutive times in 2012 and 2014. General Aung San Shield is a domestic cup of Myanmar Football Federation. MNL-2
The MNL-2 is the second-tier football league of Myanmar. The official name is MNL-2 League. The inaugural season began in 2013. History The MNL-2 was founded in 2013 as part of MFF's effort to extend competitiveness into the nation's football system. The league is played in a league cup format. After two rounds of competition, the top two teams compete each other for the final. The two finalists are promoted to the MNL. The top four finishers from the league also qualify for the MFF Cup. However, this rule does not apply to the two guest teams which are taking part on experimental purposes. For the inaugural season in 2013, nine teams participated. Among them, Best United and Horizon FC were transformed from former Futsal clubs. Myanmar National League
The MPT Myanmar National League ( my, မြန်မာ နေရှင်နယ် လိဂ်; abbreviated MNL) is the premier national professional football league of Myanmar. In 2009, the league replaced the Myanmar Premier League, which consisted only of 14 Yangon-based football clubs, with eight professional clubs representing different regions across the nation. On 16 May 2009, the league launched its inaugural two-month tournament, the Myanmar National League Cup 2009 in preparation for the first full season in 2010. Despite its national ambitions, the league held the MNL Cup 2009 matches in the country's two main stadiums in Yangon due to the lack of adequate facilities elsewhere.
