Mut (political Party)
Mut (transl. ''courage'') is a German political party founded in June 2017 by Claudia Stamm and Stephan Lessenich. History Since 2009, Stamm has been associated with the Alliance 90/The Greens, Greens as a Member of Parliament. She resigned in March 2017 and formed Mut on 1 June 2017 with Lessenich and others. Mut is a federal party and is based in Munich. Apart from Stamm and Lessenich, the board members include Nicole Britz and Alex Schweiger, the treasurer. Britz is the former Chairman of the Pirate Party of Bavaria. Other known members of the political party are Renate Ackermann and Matthias Matuschik. It is the youngest political party to participate in the 2018 Bavarian state election, Bavarian state elections of 2018. Initially, the party had problems finding eligible candidates to contest in the election but they fulfilled the requirement. Among 44 out of 91 constituencies, Mut party had direct candidates. Mut, also known as Maut and Mout, was a mother goddess worshipped in ancient Egypt and the Kingdom of Kush in present-day North Sudan. In Meroitic, her name was pronounced mata): 𐦨𐦴. Her name means ''mother'' in the ancient Egyptian language. Mut had many different aspects and attributes that changed and evolved a lot over the thousands of years of ancient Egyptian culture. Mut was considered a primal deity, associated with the primordial waters of Nu from which everything in the world was born. Mut was sometimes said to have given birth to the world through parthenogenesis, but more often she was said to have a husband, the solar creator god Amun-Ra. Although Mut was believed by her followers to be the mother of everything in the world, she was particularly associated as the mother of the lunar child god Khonsu. Alliance 90/The Greens
Alliance 90/The Greens (german: Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, ), often simply referred to as the Greens ( ), is a Green politics, green List of political parties in Germany, political party in Germany. It was formed in 1993 as the merger of The Greens (formed in West Germany in 1980) and Alliance 90 (formed in East Germany in 1990). The Greens had itself merged with the East German Green Party after German reunification in 1990. Since January 2022, Ricarda Lang and Omid Nouripour have been co-leaders of the party. Democracy In Europe Movement 2025
The Democracy in Europe Movement 2025, or DiEM25, is a pan-European political movement founded in 2016 by a group of Europeans, including former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis and Croatian philosopher Srećko Horvat. The movement was officially launched at ceremonial events on 9 February 2016 in the Volksbühne theatre in Berlin and on 23 March in Rome. DiEM25's tendencies are alter-globalisation, social ecology, ecofeminism, post-growth and post-capitalism. Implementation of a universal basic income is widely defended among its members. The acronym DiEM alludes to the Latin phrase ''carpe diem''. Claudia Stamm
Claudia Stamm (born 8 October 1970) is a German politician. Early life and education Stamm, born on 8 October 1970 in Würzburg of Bavaria, graduated from the Wirsberg-Gymnasium high school in Würzburg in 1990. She spent one year as an exchange student in Illinois, USA. She went on to complete her Master's in political science specialising in women's studies at the Eichstätt-Ingolstadt university, then at the University of Cologne, and at the University of Salamanca in Spain. After working for a women's association, she was employed in 1999 by Bayerischer Rundfunk as a freelance writer and editor. 2018 Bavarian State Election
The 2018 Bavarian state election took place on 14 October 2018 to elect the 180 members of the 18th Landtag of Bavaria. The outgoing government was a majority of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU), led by Minister President Markus Söder. The CSU recorded its worst result since 1950 with 37% of votes, a decline of over ten percentage points, although it remained by far the largest party in the Landtag. The SPD, which had previously been the second largest party, fell to fifth place with just 10%. The Greens gained 9 points and emerged as the second strongest party with 17.5%. The Free Voters of Bavaria (FW) gained 2.6 points and finished third with 11.6% of the total vote. The Alternative for Germany (AfD), which ran in Bavaria for the first time, placed fourth with 10%.
