Murfin Music International
Murfin Music International and Murfin Media are companies run by Muff Murfin, and are based at The Old Smithy Studios in Kempsey, Worcestershire, England. Murfin owns several radio stations in the UK, and also hires time at its studios to produce jingles for radio. Murfin, with his then music partner, Colin Owen, were billed as the M and O Band, and reached No. 16 in the UK Singles Chart in March 1976 with "Let's Do the Latin Hustle". The track was a cover version of the original recorded in 1975 by Eddie Drennon and B.B.S. Unlimited. Biography Murfin was a director and founder shareholder of The Bear 102 in Stratford-upon-Avon. The station started broadcasting in 1996. The Bear was later sold to the CN Group in 2001. Big City Radio (formerly Aston FM) is a British community radio station based in Aston, Birmingham. The station, owned and operated by Murfin Music International, broadcasts on 89.1FM in Aston and surrounding areas, on DAB and online via the station's website and mobile apps. The station launched on 1 November 2005 as Aston FM, before rebranding as ''Big City'' four years later. In November 2017 Big City Radio changed its mainstream output from classic contemporary music to 'Urban' and 'Specialised' programming. Mid Wales ( cy, Canolbarth Cymru or simply ''Y Canolbarth'', meaning "the midlands") or Central Wales refers to a region of Wales, encompassing its midlands, in-between North Wales and South Wales. Radio Wyvern, formerly 106.7 Youthcomm Radio, is a community radio station, licensed by Ofcom, broadcasting to Worcester, England, on 106.7FM, DAB Digital Radio in Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and online. Youthcomm Radio was established in 1996, and officially launched its FM service on Sunday 13 January 2008 after broadcasting online for seven years prior. Initially established by Worcestershire County Council and Worcestershire Youth Service, the station later fell victim to funding cuts and was at the brink of closure in early 2018. Sunshine Radio (FM)
Sunshine Radio is a British radio station which broadcasts to Herefordshire and Monmouthshire, areas of the West Midlands and South Wales respectively from its studios in Hereford. It is operated by Murfin Media Ltd, and previously by Laser Broadcasting. History Prior to launching the station had a working name of Classic Hits, and the licence application was in this name. Three months prior to the opening, the station rebranded to Sunshine Radio, the same name as the original Sunshine Radio in Ludlow. The station launched on 14 December 2007. A five-minute audio clock was used as a lead in to the opening jingle and welcoming monologue from Station Manager and presenter Mark Edwards at exactly 7am.
