Multinet Gas
Multinet Gas Networks (MGN) is an Australian energy company and one of three Victorian natural gas distribution networks. MGN is one of three main companies that make up Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG), the other two being Australian Gas Networks (AGN) and Dampier to Bunbury Pipeline (DBP). MGN distributes natural gas to around 703,000 homes and 16,000 businesses throughout Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs and outer Eastern Suburbs, the Yarra Ranges, and South Gippsland. MGN delivers gas from the transmission network, through a network of lower pressure, smaller diameter, pipelines to customers. The network comprises 164 km of licensed transmission pipelines, 9,650 km of distribution mains (operating at pressures between 7kPa and 515 kPa), and 179 regulator stations. Gas And Fuel Corporation Of Victoria
The Gas and Fuel Corporation of Victoria (G&FC) was a government-owned monopoly supplier of household gas in Victoria, Australia. It was established in 1950 and took over two of the three main gas utilities in Melbourne – the Metropolitan Gas Company and the Brighton Gas Company. As part of the conversion to natural gas, in 1971 the corporation acquired the Geelong Gas Company, one of only two remaining private gas companies in Victoria at the time. The Ballarat Gas Company closed at the time. The G&FC was wound up in June 1995. The Mornington Peninsula is a peninsula located south of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is surrounded by Port Phillip to the west, Western Port to the east and Bass Strait to the south, and is connected to the mainland in the north. Geographically, the peninsula begins its protrusion from the mainland in the area between Pearcedale and an area north of Frankston. United Energy is a Victorian energy network which distributes electricity across east and south-east Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula to more than 640,000 customers, 90% of which are residential. Its network includes 209,000 poles and over 13,000 kilometres of wires. Electricity is received via 78 sub-transmission lines at 46 zone stations, where it is transformed from sub-transmission voltages to distribution voltages. The company was owned by the DUET Group, which also owned Multinet Gas, which distributes gas in Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs to middle-eastern Victoria.
