Board track racing was a type of motorsport popular in the United States during the 1910s and 1920s. Competition was conducted on circular or oval race courses with surfaces composed of wooden planks. This type of track was first used for motorcycle competition, wherein they were called ''motordromes'', before being adapted for use by various different types of racing cars. The majority of the American national championship races were contested at such venues during the 1920s. Board tracks proliferated in part because they were inexpensive to construct, but they lacked durability and required a great deal of maintenance to remain usable. Many of the tracks survived for as little as three years before being abandoned. With the onset of the Great Depression in the early 1930s, board track racing disappeared rapidly. ''Motordrome'' is the third album by Danish singer and songwriter MØ, released on 28 January 2022 through Columbia Records. It was announced alongside the release of the singles "Brad Pitt" and "Goosebumps" on 12 November 2021, and also includes the singles "Live to Survive" and "Kindness". MØ was to tour Europe and North America from February 2022 in support of the album. ''Motordrome'' charted only in Denmark, debuting at number nine on the Danish Albums Chart. The Motordrome, also known as the Olympic Park Speedway, the Melbourne Speedway or the Victorian Speedway, was a former speedway and Australian rules football ground located approximately on the site of the present day Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Olympic Park in Melbourne, Victoria. The ground was primarily a speedway track, but also hosted football matches. History Melbourne Carnivals Pty. Ltd, a company established in 1923 by Jack Campbell and Jim DuFrocq, developed and leased a large site known as the Amateur Sports Ground from the Crown with the help of local entrepreneur John Wren. On the site, the Motordrome was constructed. Motordrome is an archaic placename in Los Angeles County, California. It designates a rail spur that existed in the 1910s on the Redondo Beach via Del Rey Line, named for the Los Angeles Motordrome race track and airfield. Even though the racetrack was destroyed in a fire in 1913, and the rails were removed by 1918, the place name persisted on USGS survey maps until at least the 1930s. The Barnes Circus train partially derailed at Motordrome in 1914, injuring four. Motordrome station lay at an elevation of 7 feet (2 m). The coordinates for Motordrome preserved in the GNIS () place it near the present-day intersections of Jefferson Boulevard and Culver Boulevard, in what is now the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve.
