Mohamed Abdul Ghanee
Mohamed Abdul Ghanee (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Theyravaa is a Maldivian singer and songwriter. Early life and career Born to a musical family, Ghanee had no interest in music even when his siblings spend their time in jamming and singing. While studying at Madhrasathul Ifthithaah, he participated in the Inter-house singing competition, on a request by his elder brother. His performance was well noted by judges and received several prizes. The success was followed by his next performance, the song "Theyravaa" which caught the attention of a member from the local music band Zero Degree Atoll, who insisted him to perform a different version of the song in the ''Fannaanunge Muzikee Eid Show'' (1992). The version, which marks his first break in the industry, was loved by the audience and he was considered "a promising singer". National Award Of Recognition For Performing Arts
The National Award of Recognition for Performing Arts is one of the categories in the National Award of Recognition presented annually by the President of the Maldives to acknowledge, encourage and honor the outstanding contribution of individuals in film production, direction, acting, singing and music composition. The National Award is the most prestigious award given in Maldives. Established in 1979, National Award was given in major two categories; National Award of Honor and National Award of Recognition, which is further categorized based on the honored fields. The first recipient of the award was music composer Ibrahim Ahmed, who has been noted as the local "backbone" for modernizing the old-fashioned music into the latest trend. Easa Shareef
Easa Shareef is a Maldivian film director, actor, screen-writer, editor and lyricist. Career In 1993, Shareef collaborated with Yoosuf Rafeeu for his tragedy drama film '' Vaudhu'' (1993) which narrates the separation of a happy couple due to the societal differences. The following year, he directed and starred in the critically acclaimed film '' Zakham'' (1994) where he played the supportive brother of a young girl who has been forced to marry out of her will. In 1996, he directed the film '' Edhuvas Hingajje'' which follows the love triangle of a devoted wife, a reckless husband and his short tempered mistress. This was followed by Yoosuf Rafeeu's award winning film ''Haqqu'' which revolves around a man who is forced to marry a woman against his will, and stars Mariyam Nisha, Reeko Moosa Manik and Mariyam Shakeela in lead roles. Rafiyath Rameeza (23 March 1976) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Rafiyath Rameeza was born and raised in the "Rameez family" where several artists including Ali Rameez and Ibrahim Rameez were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. At the age of 12, while studying at Aminiya School, she competed in the Television Maldives Interschool Singing Competition and continued to participate in the same competition for more years. In 1993, at the age of seventeen, while studying at Malé English School, Rameeza performed the song "Kaakuhey Mithaahuree" in the competition which fetched the award for best performer from her age category and was ranked in the second place of the competition. ''Maafeh Neii'' is a 2010 family drama film directed and produced by Ali Seezan. Produced under Cxanal Movies, the film stars Seezan, Niuma Mohamed and Koyya Hassan Manik in pivotal roles. The film was released on 9 March 2010. The film focuses on three generations of one family. It highlights many social issues, such as the human rights abuses, forced marriages and domestic violence. Aishath Maain Rasheed (2 November 1992) is a Maldivian singer. Early life At the age of seven, Maain's interest in music grew as she observes her father, Ibrahim Rasheed, working as a mentor to the students of MES Malé English School, participating in Television Maldives Interschool Singing Competition. In 2000, she presented her first stage performance while studying in Jamaluddin school where she was ranked third in her age category. Aminath Shaufa Saeed (9 November 1990) is a Maldivian singer. Career In 2007, Saeed appeared in one of the Television Maldives-created singing series shows, ''Thihan'dhaanugai'', where she performed a cover of the song "Eynee Loabi", originally performed by Masodi Hassan Khaleel. Ibrahim Zaid Ali (born 15 April 1978), commonly known as Kuda Ibbe is a Maldivian singer and music composer. Early life and career Since childhood, Ali had been listening to all genres of songs from Bollywood classical to hip-hop to heavy metal music.
