Miss World America 2017
Miss World America 2017, also referred to as America's Miss World 2017, was the 9th edition of the Miss World America pageant and it was held in the Linda Chapin Theater in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and was won by Clarissa Bowers of Florida. She was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Audra Mari of North Dakota. Bowers went on to represent the United States at the Miss World 2017 Pageant in Sanya, China later that year. She finished in the Top 40 at Miss World. This is the first and only pageant with Lynne Scott Safrit & Elizabeth Safrit as the new co-national directors of Miss World in the United States after Christopher Wilmer lost the franchise. After this edition, the Safrits gave up the license. The license then went to Michael Blakey and Liz Fuller. Orange County Convention Center
The Orange County Convention Center is a convention center located in Orlando, Florida. Opened in 1983 as the Orange County Convention and Civic Center, it is the primary public convention center for the Central Florida region and the second-largest convention center in the United States, after McCormick Place in Chicago. The OCCC offers of space, of which is exhibit space. The complex is located on the south end of International Drive, a major tourist area in Orlando. The original building (the "West Concourse") housed an 11,300-seat arena from 1983 to 1992. It hosted concerts by popular artists including Madonna, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Styx, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, and Hall and Oates. Its use declined after the Orlando Arena opened in 1989. Maureen Ann Montagne ( ; ; born July 10, 1993) is a Filipino-American beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2021. She represented the Philippines at The Miss Globe 2021 pageant and won. Previously, she was crowned Miss Arizona USA 2015 and finished as a Top 15 semifinalist at the Miss USA 2015 pageant. She was also previously crowned Miss Eco Philippines 2018 at the Miss World Philippines 2018 competition and finished 1st Runner-Up at the Miss Eco International 2019 pageant. Liz Fuller
Elizabeth Angela Fuller (born 30 December 1975) is a Welsh television presenter, actress, model and media personality, who is also known for being Miss Great Britain 1996 – 97. Fuller is the former owner of the Miss Great Britain pageant from September 2009 to January 2011. She launched her own competition of the Miss British Empire beauty pageant in 2011. Liz is the new co-director of Americas Miss World. Early life Fuller was born in Swansea, Wales and attended Hendrefoilan Primary School, Dumbarton House School, and Olchfa School. Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951. Since his death in 2000, Morley's widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant. Miss World 2017, the 67th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 November 2017 at the Sanya City Arena in China. 118 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico crowned her successor Manushi Chhillar of India at the end of the event. She is the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World after Priyanka Chopra won in 2000, with India tying Venezuela for the most wins in the pageant's history. Audra Diane Mari (born January 8, 1994) is an American model, television host, and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Miss World America 2016 on July 8, 2016, and represented the United States at Miss World 2016. The United States has continuously sent a representative to Miss World since its inception in 1951. The United States has won the Miss World crown three times in 1973, 1990 and 2010.
