Miss Minnesota Teen USA
The Miss Minnesota Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Minnesota in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is directed by Future Productions based in Savage, Minnesota. Minnesota has not been very successful at Miss Teen USA, with their first placement coming in 1995, in the pageant's thirteenth year. Minnesota teens have performed best in the 2000s, with two top fifteen, three top ten placements and a 4th runner-up placement. Five Minnesota teens have won the Miss Minnesota USA pageant and competed at Miss USA. The current titleholder is Ava Ernst of St. Paul, was crowned on May 29, 2022, at Ames Center in Burnsville. She will represent Minnesota for the title of Miss Teen USA 2022. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Miss Teen USA 2021
Miss Teen USA 2021 was the 39th Miss Teen USA pageant, held on November 27, 2021, at the Paradise Cover Theater of River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The competition was hosted by Kalani Hilliker and Nicole Adamo. For a fourth consecutive year, the competition was held concurrently alongside the Miss USA competition. The edition marked the first year of the competition under Crystle Stewart's directorship. This was the first time since 1988 that the State Costume competition took place before the eve of preliminary competition. Miss Teen USA 2016 was the 34th Miss Teen USA pageant, was held at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 30, 2016. Katherine Haik of Louisiana crowned her successor Karlie Hay of Texas, at the end of the event. Miss Teen USA 2017 was the 35th Miss Teen USA pageant held at the Phoenix Symphony Hall in Phoenix, Arizona on July 29, 2017. Karlie Hay of Texas crowned her successor, Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff of Missouri at the end of the event. The pageant was hosted by celebrity personal trainer and author Heidi Powell and E! correspondent Erin Lim, while Mexican singer Jorge Blanco performed.
