Miss Chinese International 2008
Miss Chinese International Pageant 2008 was held on January 26, 2008 in Foshan, China, for the second consecutive year. The pageant was organized and broadcast by TVB in Hong Kong. Miss Chinese International 2007 Sarah Song of Sydney, Australia crowned Océane Zhu of Paris, France as the 20th Miss Chinese International. Zhu is the first ever winner from Europe. Pageant information The slogan to this year's pageant was "Expanding the View of the World: Beauty Comes from the Chinese " 「放眼世界 美麗來自中華」. The Masters of Ceremonies include Eric Tsang, Sammy Leung and Myolie Wu. Special performing guest was cantopop singer Kenny Chung. Contestant #23 TingJia Rosalinda Lorigiano of Montreal was the youngest of all competitors in the history of the pageant, at 17 years old. Miss Chinese Montreal
Miss (pronounced ) is an English language honorific typically used for a girl, for an unmarried woman (when not using another title such as "Doctor" or " Dame"), or for a married woman retaining her maiden name. Nan'an District
Nan'an District (), is one of the six central districts of Chongqing municipality, China. It covers an area of 262.43 km2, with 44 km2 covered with forests and woods. It has an estimated population of 891,000 in late 2017. Geography The Yangtze River curves around the north and west border of Nan'an district for about 45 kilometers. The river separates Nan'an from its neighbouring districts such as Jiulongpo, Yuzhong, Jiangbei, and Yubei. The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region (PRD; ; pt, Delta do Rio das Pérolas (DRP)) is the low-lying area surrounding the Pearl River estuary, where the Pearl River flows into the South China Sea.
